[Reader Advisory]
The story is told in third person. The protagonist is a woman transmigrated into a man's body, and thinks she's just an NPC, but is actually a big shot living her everyday life. The CP is tentatively Gojo Satoru.
I, Nan Pingchi, am an ordinary transmigrator. Before transmigrating, I was an ordinary university student at XX University. After dying unexpectedly, I came to an anime-style world full of demons and monsters and became an ordinary male high school student.
Unfortunately, before I transmigrated, I was a woman :).
Although this little mix-up happened, I still felt lucky that after transmigrating, I didn't face the sort of difficult start that the protagonists of those old-school transmigration stories did.
For example, there was no System that would casually erase me or stab me in the back, and no awkward situation where everyone hated me from the start.
It was just like my name, NPC (Nan Pingchi): I was simply an ordinary person living a peaceful, carefree life in this overly complicated and exciting world.
Maybe others would find that boring, but I wouldn't.
I've never been good at dealing with people and situations that are too complicated, so this kind of life suits me perfectly.
Friends used to say I always thought too much and said and did too little, that I was overly rational, yet relied on my intuition in the strangest situations, and was a little too calm. With a personality like that, I was clearly not as lovable as a protagonist.
But I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Just as the "protagonists" who love other people's attention and the spotlight enjoy being at the center of the stage, I enjoy my life as Nan Pingchi (NPC) just as much. After all...
Who says an NPC can't have a dream life of their own?
I enjoy the ordinary, and I enjoy solitude and the freedom to choose to be myself, rather than becoming an unconventional, popular protagonist in other people's eyes.
Because in the present that belongs to me, I don't need to worry about the anxiety and confusion brought on by the passage of time. I only need to live in this moment.
Every day that belongs to me (NPC) is a pleasant day, not a continuation of the past or a prelude to the future. Each day's version of me is new, free from the restraints of time, because we possess time, all of it.
This is me, an ordinary everyday life for a passerby-type NPC (Nan Pingchi).
