[Yuri + dual female leads + selfcest. All characters are women, but the world is not an all-female world.]
When 22-year-old Xing Lan first met her seven-years-younger self, it was at a little sausage stall.
She was paying in full for a starch sausage when, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a big, tall kid gazing longingly at the grilled sausages beside her.
She hadn't cared much for those since she left home for college, but when she was little, she'd been hooked on them for quite a while.
As she wondered whether she should treat the kid, she suddenly got a good look at their face.
Covered in pimples and shiny with oil, it looked exactly like her own face at fifteen.
At fifteen, Xing Lan was lively and cheerful, always ready to help, and a good student. The first line of her teachers' comments was always, "A wonderful assistant to the teachers and a great role model for her classmates."
In the eyes of society, the only flaw in her life was that she had grown up in a single-parent household after her parents divorced. Her older sister went with their mother, while she went with their father.
The first thing she wanted to do when she saw 22-year-old Xing Lan was call her father. The second was to ask Xing Lan:
"Is Father dead?
"If he is, can I be with you now?"
The story of fifteen-year-old Xing Lan unexpectedly transmigrating seven years into the future and being taken in by her 22-year-old self.
[Special notice:]
To make things easier and create a sense of parallelism, the two sisters' timelines don't match, but when they're together, the timelines overlap without either of them noticing.
Fifteen-year-old Xing Lan is in her final year of middle school and then high school, so realistic pains of growing up at school will very likely appear.
Twenty-two-year-old Xing Lan is doing an internship at medical school. She's only an intern, so the doctor-patient perspective may be one-sided.
[Reading guide:]
1. Before the younger sister is an adult, there is no romantic relationship between them. The younger sister has no secret crush on her older sister, and the older sister has no romantic feelings or sexual attraction toward the younger sister.
The story is mainly about the two supporting and saving each other, but it is indeed a yuri selfcest story. If the romance feels weak, that's because the author didn't write it well, not because of the characters.
It's true selfcest, the past-and-future kind. It's not parallel universes with different lives, nor multiple personalities.
2. Every character who appears in the story is a woman. The only male character is the father. He lives only in the sisters' memories and is mentioned very occasionally. He won't appear in person, and he certainly won't come between the two versions of Xing Lan.
3. It's also a food story, because the author has watched too many food review videos and eating streams. By the way, even though everyone is making a big fuss about losing weight in 2025, weight loss isn't advisable for any girl unless she's dangerously overweight.
4. As the series title says, this is a realistic story. It is based on real people, but it doesn't cherry-pick extreme cases of misery, and it won't deliberately add "female suffering" just to make things seem realistic.
The author is willing to take the criticism for this series, even if it's written in the heat of the moment, to avoid upsetting anyone. That's why the series is at the bottom of the list. The goal is to finish it after it gets into the triple digits, and updates will come slowly too. (Just making excuses for my turtle-paced writing.)
Theme: Yuri selfcest, true selfcest.
