There are villains who possess luck and strength equal to the protagonist's, yet become stepping stones for the protagonist when the plot goes off the rails, inexplicably meeting tragic ends.
To rewrite those endings, the System sets its sights on the characters most likely to change the villains.
The System: "Complete your missions, and you can defy fate and change their destinies!"
The missions go smoothly, but...
The Host, held tightly in the villain's arms and unable to get away, says: ...Is this really a proper mission?

The first time Yun Song met Yu Yan was at a banquet. Yu Yan was brazen and cruel, dangerous in every way.
Yun Song began to believe they would end up dying together.
He knew that Yu Yan was actually an alien species wearing human skin. After losing to the protagonist in a fight, Yu Yan was locked up in a lab, still waiting for a chance to take revenge.
Later, they joined forces. Yun Song wasn't bothered by Yu Yan's wariness. "I want to help you, that's all."
After all their twists and turns, Yu Yan was once again briefly confined to the lab.
But this time, the cold research area had been decorated as a warm nest. The little bird's courtship instincts drowned out his threats with a chorus of "chirp, chirp."
He had no choice but to wrap his wings around Yun Song and desperately push his courtship feathers into his hands.
"Don't... You can't look at anyone else!" The little bird, deep in his mating season, couldn't hide the blush on his fair neck. His ear feathers brushed Yun Song's face. "You said we'd work together. Now help me."
Yun Song: ...?
Yun Song: "Come here."

You need to help him through his unstable differentiation period and get him out of the research facility."
Luo Shu: "I know."
He stared at the confused and innocent villain, whose alien genes had left him bewildered. "I know everything he'll go through. I won't let him become like me again."
Later, the protagonist's group fell apart and the base collapsed, but the villain remained cheerful and carefree, spending all day following Luo Shu around. The System: "?"
The gloomy, world-weary villain turned into a sunshiney crybaby, and now you're the villain?!
