Of Course I Won't Save You

Good news: You have been reborn.

Bad news: You have been reborn into a cultivation novel, where you are an ordinary person with no spiritual roots. Now, the System that holds your life in its hands wants you to redeem the villain.

After Chu Shiyan opened her eyes, she stared blankly for a moment, then asked the System in disbelief:

"Me?"

The System replied to her with utmost seriousness: "Yes, Host. You are here to redeem the villain."

Sorrow welled up inside Chu Shiyan. She tried to cover her eyes and avoid the villain's profile that had popped up on the System's screen.

She had already seen the villain Ye Shuangming's backstory: both his parents were dead, and he was doomed to a lonely fate. Covering her eyes was no use.

Fortunately, Chu Shiyan had read no shortage of novels in her previous life. She quickly collected her thoughts and asked the System, "What does the villain have to do for his redemption to count as a success?"

The System said, "He just needs to learn to love others and become a good person."

"However, please note that due to a System bug, this villain cannot have his timeline rewound, nor can the memories of previous Hosts who failed to win him over be erased. As a result, he is particularly difficult to win over. Host, you must proceed with caution, or the villain will kill you."

Chu Shiyan thought for a moment and came to a conclusion: it didn't matter who the villain was.

After all, the System had never said she couldn't replace the villain. And Chu Shiyan, who loved power-fantasy novels about leveling up, felt she was much better at taking down villains and becoming the boss than redeeming them.

So Chu Shiyan decided to endure humiliation and lie low by the villain's side, playing the part of a loyal lackey, then deal him a fatal blow when he was at his weakest.

But just as she held her sword to the villain's throat, he choked out, "Weren't you here to redeem me?"

The young woman had a light, clear voice, and a smile still played on her face.

"Evil deeds bring evil consequences. Of course I'm not going to redeem you."

Key points of this novel:
