Xiao Liu is a poor little fox living in the mountains. Recently, he found an unconscious furnace companion who came with his own autobiography, proclaiming himself a mighty expert reborn as a nobody, destined to become a legendary hero.
.
At first, Xiao Liu didn't believe a word of it.
But the furnace companion had fallen off a cliff.
And he had especially beautiful eyes.
He also held Xiao Liu's hand tightly, begging him to save him. His will was so strong that whenever he got the chance, he would wake for just a moment.
.
Xiao Liu: "He's exactly like the protagonist described in those storybooks. They also say that if you save someone in their hour of need, they'll repay you with their body."
Fox Friend: "So that's why a half-fox with a congenital deficiency and no cultivation is dragging his weak body down into the mines to work and support a family? Did he agree to be your family?"
Xiao Liu: "He's still unconscious, so he can't do anything yet. I'll talk to him when he can."
Fox Friend: "What if he wakes up, loses his memory, turns on you, treats you like trash, digs out your demon core, tears out your soul, and goes off to find countless beauties?"
Xiao Liu: "..."
Fox Friend: "That's what happens in storybooks."
Xiao Liu: "...You do have a point."
The fox friend nodded with satisfaction.
Xiao Liu solemnly pulled another storybook from under the bed. "I should probably take precautions in advance."
