After the Old God fell, he entered a parallel world and found a mirror image of himself there.
Though they were both deities, the Old God could whip the world into chaos, while the version of himself in this world was helpless and weak, at the mercy of others. He wouldn’t even fight back when they locked him in a psychiatric hospital.
He wouldn’t even give up his feeble, useless human identity and embrace the power of the deep to awaken as a god.
How ridiculous.
The Old God decided to erase his incompetent mirror image and take over his body.
A god couldn’t simply erase another being with the same divine essence, so the Old God hid inside the mirror image’s body and waited for his chance. But as time went on, he couldn’t stand watching any longer. He picked up the name he’d used as a human, [Shang Xingyun], and began deceiving his counterpart in this world, [Shang Xunxue].
“Baby, I’m your older brother. It’s true. Look, I even call you Baby.”
“They can’t bully you like this... Baby, I’ll teach you to be strong. I’ll help you get revenge.”
Later, his voice grew strained and irritable.
“Baby, you can’t like him, and you absolutely mustn’t say yes to him. I’m the one who understands you best, and I’m the person closest to you. How can you push me aside for him?”
Shang Xingyun didn’t know.
Shang Xunxue had known who he was all along.
He wasn’t his older brother. He wasn’t a split personality. He was himself.
...He wanted to kill him, replace him, and take over his body.
But after the doctor confessed his feelings for him, everything began to spiral out of control.
