I’m the Favored Consort, What Do I Have to Fear?

Every palace-intrigue story has someone like her. She is always beautiful, always lowborn, and always has the same generic name: the scapegoat.

Perhaps for the sake of true love, perhaps to maintain a balance of power, the emperor always elevates her and showers her with endless favor.

Oh, and she also goes by another name: the favored consort.

Her ending is usually not a happy one. She is either cast aside and banished to the Cold Palace, or dies miserably after committing countless evils.

It took Jiang Cha dying once to realize that she was just a substitute Xiao Yi had found to protect the woman he loved, Ni Le'an. Was it simply because both their names contained the character for "peace"???

Xiao Yi had not been heir to the throne, and the empress dowager was not his mother. The imperial harem was newly established, and the factions were in disarray. Fearing that Ni Le'an was too gentle to survive the harem's power struggles, he raised Jiang Cha, his chosen substitute, as a target. Using her ruthless methods, she would eliminate the remaining power of the great clans and clear a path for the woman he loved.

In this new life, Jiang Cha figures she can love whoever she wants. This young lady is done playing along. It's a pity the situation is already set in stone. If that's the case, she'll turn the whole world upside down and fly free when the time is right.

What she never expected was that things seemed to be a little different this time.

Blurb to be added.
