After the head of the He family died, he left behind a male spouse who was rarely seen in public.

The newly widowed Yu Ci was tormented by a bone-deep chill that crept over him at night, a sore and limp waist when he woke each morning, and red marks on his legs. His eyes were flushed pink, and tear tracks covered his pale, rosy face.

He could only lie in another man's arms, loop his arms around the man's neck, and offer up his lips, crying pitifully,

"He's back. Can you help me...?"

The man's hand closed around the young man's slender waist. His eyes were dark as he said,

"I can help you, but you'll have to give me something in return."

Yu Ci had only just gotten off the man's lap, his body still soft, when he ran into his younger brother-in-law, who had recently returned home.

As a gorgeous and beautiful rosemary mushroom, Jin Chu was the most popular group favorite in "The Plant Squad," thanks to his natural abilities and adorable personality.

Cabbage used its leaves to make him a bed, four-leaf clover fanned him with its leaves, and green beans gave him their seeds to play marbles with.

Even the ill-tempered boxing pepper called him cute.

Jin Chu lived a carefree, comfortable life.

Until one day, Jin Chu transmigrated into an apocalypse.

He opened his eyes to countless giant frogs, their slippery long tongues shooting toward him. The shock knocked Jin Chu onto his bottom, and without thinking, he threw the pea seeds in his arms.

The round peas went "Bang!" and exploded. Their green skins flew like shrapnel, blasting the mutated frogs into pieces.

After the deafening rumble, a group of humans ran out of the swamp.

The tallest and best-looking human scooped Jin Chu up and ran.

The first warning passed around the botanical garden was: don't let humans catch you, or they'll turn you into vegetable salad and eat you.

Unable to struggle free, Jin Chu filled his eyes with tears. Boohoo, tonight I'll become a delicious cream of mushroom soup.

As a suspicious person, Jin Chu was pinned to an interrogation chair.

After questioning, he realized that he could never go back to the botanical garden and that he was in a dangerous, mutation-ridden apocalypse.

Jin Chu, with his charm maxed out and combat ability in the negatives: I might as well become mushroom soup. QoQ

He was only a naive, tender young rosemary mushroom.

The one bright spot was that he had brought along the little leaf pouch Cabbage had given him. It was full of seeds he'd collected in the botanical garden, each with strange and wonderful uses.

The broad, thick banana leaves could nullify attacks.

The foxtail's flower spikes could whip mutated creatures.

The glowing chamomile made a little night-light.

More importantly, the human who had brought him back promised to take care of him. OvO

Yun Zhi rescued a young man from a tide of mutations.

He had pale cheeks and soft hair, and looked completely out of place in the mutation zone.

After Yun Zhi carried him out of the swamp, the young man not only plucked out a few of his feathers, but his very first words were, "Don't eat me, I'm poisonous!!"

After learning that the young man's mutation was mushroom-based, Yun Zhi realized he was frail and delicate, and would have a hard time surviving in the perilous apocalypse.

So when the young man grabbed his sleeve pitifully and asked if he could stay, Yun Zhi's heart softened, and he didn't refuse.

He thought taking care of a mushroom wouldn't be much trouble.

Later, that mushroom sat on his shoulder as they traveled the world.
