The deep love of youth could not withstand the passage of time, and Xia Pingwu finally asked her childhood sweetheart and wife, Ming Chunshan, for a divorce.

The moment she received the divorce papers, Ming Chunshan stuffed the thin sheet of paper straight into the mouth of a dying mutated beast.

As Ming Chunshan raced home, she had already imagined eight hundred ways to tie Xia Pingwu up in their bedroom.

But when Ming Chunshan opened the door, she saw her usually self-possessed beloved wife examining their wedding photo. Looking up, Xia Pingwu wore a hint of surprise in her eyes

She tried to appear calm, but could not hide her smugness.

"Well, I can understand that I’m quite charming.

"But I’m not really in the mood for a relationship right now."

Ming Chunshan put away the blade and handcuffs clenched in her hands, smiling with familiar tenderness. "It’s okay. I can pursue you all over again."

Her beloved wife’s memories had returned to the time when they were childhood friends, at the start of school, before she had learned even the slightest bit of her abilities.

Ming Chunshan took the opportunity to stay close behind Xia Pingwu at every turn, concealing the intense possessiveness beneath her caring protection.

At last, they became inseparable once more.

But then one day, the mutated beast that had previously died suddenly came back to life. When Ming Chunshan rushed desperately to her beloved wife, she found that the beast had already been gutted.

The culprit, Xia Pingwu, did not even look at the corpse. She simply raised the paper in her hand, its writing now almost impossible to make out, and coldly asked Ming Chunshan:

"Look. Guess what treasure I dug out of this thing’s stomach.

"Turns out you don’t love me that much. You even drew up divorce papers."

Ming Chunshan’s gentle smile vanished. She grabbed Xia Pingwu by her delicate throat, revealing the fangs she had kept hidden for so long. "A-Jie, how do you want me to love you?"

Pingwu is seven days older than Chunshan.

1. This is an AG novel. I consider it romance-focused, but the story will probably be half romance and half plot. I wrote the cover and story in 2024. Since then, I’ve reflected on how marriage is fundamentally oppressive, including same-sex marriage, and will try to avoid marriage-related terms as much as possible in future works.

2. While I initially planned to write a story about a crazy yandere woman, I actually want to reflect a little on yanderes in this novel, though I’m not sure I managed it very well.

3. [First revision] I’ve finished revising the earlier chapters. I did my best, but my abilities are limited. I hope my efforts will add up over time, and that I’ll improve one day!

4. This novel took a long time to write, so there may be some plot holes later on. I’ll keep revising when I have time!
