Reborn and identity revealed | Rekindled romance | Young emperor and empress | The powerful one bows his head
Xiao Yu died in childbirth in the winter of the nineteenth year of Taikang.
On the day she died, the imperial capital saw its heaviest snowfall in a decade.
The new emperor heard the devastating news during his enthronement ceremony. Overcome with grief, he rushed back at once.
The officials wore mourning white, and the land itself grieved.
Snow swirled throughout the city, softly filling in the broken ending of their story and playing a silent elegy to bid her farewell.
Then the snow melted, and the bitter winter passed. Amid the flower sellers' calls, spring quietly arrived.
Only she remained forever in that endless winter night.
The following year, the new emperor issued an edict throughout the realm, changing the era name to Qianning and posthumously honoring his first wife, Lady Xiao, as Empress Zhaoyuan.
Standing atop the towering palace walls, he looked down over the vast realm beneath him, but felt no excitement at all, only endless grief and sorrow.
The person who should have stood by his side to share in the flourishing age had died before dawn, before the golden age that belonged to them could begin.
The ill-fated woman's dark hair turned to ash. The one left behind grew white-haired beneath the snow.
Through countless sleepless nights afterward, he dreamed again and again of the first time he had met her.
The young woman's eyes, bright as rippling water, gazed at him time and time again.
They were startled, uncertain eyes, yet they had firmly ensnared him.
He reached out to touch her. In the next instant, he found himself among a sea of people.
He looked in every direction, but across the vast world, he could no longer find a pair of eyes like hers.
-
He is a city that falls without a siege, a hunter stretching out his neck to be slain, a fisherman walking into his own net. All she has to do is crook a finger, and he will bow his head and surrender.
"A Yu, you'll be the finest empress, and the best wife I could ask for."
"Will you marry me and become the empress of Great Qi?"
(The heroine is reborn. A balanced mix of angst and sweetness: things are a little bittersweet at first, but sweet later. Trust me!)
[Serious plot-focused blurb]

[About the characters]
Gentle, resilient noblewoman x decisive, devoted emperor
Before they recognize each other, their dynamic goes like this:
Stay away, don't look, don't touch. If you need my help, I'll use my power against you. If you fall into danger, I can't just leave you there. Don't imitate Dongshi, know your place.
(The hero's inner monologue: Just because you look like my wife doesn't mean you can do whatever you want! Okay, I admit you do look a little like her, but my wife is much better than you. You ill-intentioned fake must be plotting against me. Get away, get away!)
After they recognize each other, their dynamic goes like this:
It's thundering outside, don't be afraid, I'm here. My head hurts, stay with me. Just one last kiss for today. If you want it, it's all yours. (Relaxed charm + devoted husband energy + contrast. The author collapses on the spot. These scenes are so satisfying!)
Reading highlights:
1. The heroine does not switch bodies. The reason will be explained in the bonus chapters. The hero has no harem, and the leads are only interested in each other. However, readers who are extremely strict about purity may want to skip this, because the heroine did not know she had transmigrated into another world.
2. This is not a fast-paced story, nor is it a typical rebirth story. There is no issue of having headaches in the previous life and treating foot pain in this one. After being reborn, the heroine isn't focused on choosing a different man. The plot and romance are split evenly. There is no romantic interaction between the leads before they recognize each other, though they do share scenes. If you only like stories that focus entirely on the leads dating, please don't read this.
3. To make up for the lack of interaction between the leads before they recognize each other, chapters 53-67 include a bonus "100 Questions About Married Life" mini-series in the author's notes. Anti-piracy settings block 60% of the text. If you've skipped too many chapters and can't follow the plot, feel free to discuss it, but please don't show up in the comments with only a handful of chapters subscribed and act like an expert.

Theme: Fate is unpredictable. Stay kind, believe in yourself, grow stronger, and walk hand in hand
It's been a long time since I've seen such a novel that made me stay up late to read it. I can see the author's devotion and love between the lines. There are no absolute good guys or bad guys. Xiaoyu and Xiaolu's love for each other is always obvious. Xiaolu loves Xiaoyu like a flower, and Xiaoyu treats Xiaolu no less. They are each other's reliance and salvation, the purest and most wanton existence throughout their youth, and witnesses of each other's growth from youth to maturity. But while I was reading it, I always felt that something was a bit off. When Xiaoyu took out the handwritten letter of the late emperor to vindicate himself before the finale, I realized what was off. It may be because the overall narrative of this book is relatively flat, but (in my humble opinion) the climax is a bit dull. I like the author's daily narration very much. It is as gentle as spring water and gives people a sense of narration. However, the climax lacks the feeling of climax like the redress of the thief at the end. This should be an exciting and exciting plot to marvel at the courage and planning of Xiaoyu and Xiaolu. But the result is like this. How can I put it? It seems to end very simply. There is also the snowy night when Xiao Yu and Xiao Lu recognize each other. What I expect to see is a shocking sense of fate like the collision of two time and space. When the two look at each other, one feels the joy of losing his love for many years and then regaining it as if the whole world has come to life again. The other feels hesitant about wanting to recognize but dare not, and the touch and joy of his lover recognizing him. The same is true for the recognition of Fuzhou. At that moment, Ami should have thought of many things, and a variety of emotions filled his mind. Maybe it was because the situation was urgent and he had no time to take care of it. In short, there was a feeling of being unable to get up and down. Especially since Zuo Yan said in advance that this would be one of the three climaxes of the book, his expectations were somewhat disappointed. In fact, the biggest gap is the plot of the confrontation between the Xiaolu and Fuzhou armies. The monarchs of the two countries lead thousands of troops to confront each other in the wind and sand on the border. It should be a big scene. The wind in the wild west blows the yellow sand, the soldiers are wearing strong armor, and the sound of horse hooves is the sound of Red Cliff Fuli. "The boat is thousands of miles away, the flag covers the sky" is powerful, but it seems to be a little short of it, but the two people bickering in front of the formation is really funny and fun to watch. The same thing also includes Daqi hosting a banquet to entertain envoys from various countries. Daqi's power of intimidating small countries to come to Korea seems to be a little bit reflected. Wow, after so much verbosity, the author is still very capable. The whole book is very comfortable to read, and everyone has flesh and blood. The above are just my personal opinions, so just follow your own pace. However, maybe it's because I don't have strong empathy and I read relatively quickly (because I really can't wait to know the plot below, haha). I learned Chinese theory well, and I was a very emotional test-taking machine in high school. However, I still suggest that the author can think more about the description of the scene. For example, the excitement and pomp of Mrs. Meng's birthday party are not only reflected by the presence of such and such big shots. Each lady has her own characteristics and has the magnanimity and knowledge of a noble lady, but I hope they can have their own names instead of just taking their father's surname. In the end, this article is still worth reading, although it is a bit sad. In the history books, in the eyes of future generations, Xiao Lu married another woman after all, and Xiao Yu may always be just a substitute. It is really a pity for someone like me who likes to study history, but it is a blessing for the two to meet again. It is really sweet. I wish the author data will get better and better, and I will be inspired by Modu Moduo (kiss 😳)
It's a very interesting article. The author created the characters very distinctly. Xiao Yu, Ye Lanhui, Fu Zhou... Every pair of cps is very interesting, especially when I saw Princess Changping and Jiang Wenyun. I was addicted to them at the beginning. I like to be friends. Unlike other rebirth novels, the original author has also achieved very good results. It is the first time I have seen such a setting of two different directions in parallel time and space. The author's writing is great! Moreover, the heroine does not want to identify with others because she does not know when she will leave this world. She is a very sober character. The first thing after waking up is to find the person who hurt her before. When I saw that I had a child in my previous life, I was worried that she would enter the palace again because she said she had to take care of the child and then HE, but no! The misunderstanding between the male and female protagonists did not lead to the past life. At the beginning, she also guessed whether it was the male protagonist. The psychological description was very good. The male protagonist is very affectionate, and he is not shaken by the fact that he has the same face as his wife. There are really a lot of foreshadowings, maybe because I spent a lot of time reading it. When I saw the later parts, I could think of the foreshadowings at the beginning. The author's writing style is very good, there are many words and sentences that I like, and there are really many quotes. It can be seen that the author really wrote this article with great care. The names of Qiuping and Yinzhu should be "Yinzhu Qiuguang Cold Painting Screen". I wonder if my guess is correct? But I always feel that the character of the male protagonist is different from what I thought. I think the female protagonist went to Xizhou with them to let the second male protagonist know that the person in front of her is her sister, but then it was because the female protagonist sent troops? I thought that there would be a war on my own, but now the time just came, but it was different from what I thought. However, under that plot, the male protagonist went to show his deep affection. But war itself is not a good word. As a monarch, or a monarch in the novel, I don't think I like this paragraph very much. Maybe the character I want is too perfect. I skipped only that paragraph in the whole text, and I can almost guess the plot. This is the author's first article. The strategy part is sometimes relatively simple, but the shortcomings do not hide the good points. It is still an article that I like very much! There has been a shortage of books for a long time, maybe because I have been reading the novel for five years. Many of the new novels have very different plots and are not very attractive. I am more concerned about the creation of each character in the story. The author has created it very well. Princess Changping, Yin Zhu, and Qiu Ping, who dare to love and hate, are recognized because of the affection of the male protagonist. For the girl from the Zheng family whom I like (I am so sorry that I have forgotten her full name because of my bad memory), thank you to the author for allowing me to read such an article in my busy life. Unfortunately, I read this article in the last month of the term. After reading it, I am about to start a blue love affair. Please endorse it well. This is my first time writing a long review, so I don't know if my words fail to convey my meaning.
It's great, I look forward to the day when physical books, radio dramas, and audio books will be released 🐰
The next book I want to read is A Qi and the Little Prince 😳
Wow wow wow, great, this episode is so good, there are no regrets
