My name is Kanilion. My friends usually call me Kani.
It all began with my birth... If the planet Tismore hadn't owed the company a debt so enormous it would take a million years to repay, Tismore's leader wouldn't have tearfully sent its young children to the company to be raised into workaholics infamous throughout the universe.
By the same logic, if I hadn't happened to be born on Tismore, I wouldn't have been (forced to) work diligently at this ridiculous company for over a decade, wasting the best years of my life!
My everyday work routine went something like this:
My dashing boss strode over with a swagger that said he didn't care who he offended.
"Kani, we're heading to XX Planet today."
"You got it, boss."
My debonair, rakish boss casually transferred a six-figure sum of Credits to me.
"Kani, this planet has some nice local specialties. See anything you like? Buy it. I'm paying."
"You got it, boss!"
My handsome, dashing boss sipped red wine, gazing idly at the distant skyscrapers.
"Kani, you work so hard every day. How about I buy you a villa on this planet? Call it compensation for all these years you've been with me."
"You got it, boss!!"
My elegant, striking boss braced one hand on the table with a bold flourish and gave me a wicked smile.
"Let's make a bet. The dice have been cast. All or nothing!"
"You got... Wait, boss, that's the head honcho of this planet! Even if you win, we'll still have to pay dearly for it!!!"
My boss was a good man, and unbelievably lucky. He was generous enough to make you cry. But as his right-hand woman, whenever I went on a mission, I had to face this sequence: make a flashy entrance -> provoke the other side -> start a betting game -> definitely win -> make a frantic escape.
My boss had this bizarre knack for somehow steering things toward a happy ending while leaving himself (and me) in a sorry state.
But the truth was, I was also planning to get promoted.
You've got to be kidding. My boss was the one with the death wish when it came to gambling, and he was the lucky one, not me. What if I accidentally died one day? Who would inherit all the money I'd saved from years of working for the company? I had no parents above me or children below me.
My boss was a great guy. Aside from Topaz, I couldn't find anyone at his level who was as good a boss. But working for him was a real danger to my life. Topaz and my boss were also too close, so if I transferred to her team, I'd still have to see him every day. That would be awkward (and terrifying). So saving money was my only option.
After working conscientiously for a few more years, I finally received notice of a promotion and raise.
That day, I stared at my phone and at the notice that had barely had time to sink in, so happy I could hardly contain myself. I almost couldn't breathe.
Then I transmigrated. From the start, I was in a bizarre trash can, and when I opened its lid, I nearly froze to death.
This wasn't my old body, but my soul still followed the Path of Preservation. And this place was steeped in the Amber Lord's presence.
As someone who had just become a key member of the Interastral Peace Corporation, I wasn't frightened by this strange environment. I focused on what to do next. Suddenly, a thunderous crash rang out from the sky, and I saw a gigantic robot rise in the distance. It scared the daylights out of me.
But I quickly realized that the thing was tied to the Corporation's creations. Come on, I was a seasoned wage slave in the Strategic Investment Department. How could I not recognize that?
The intense presence of the Amber Lord made me realize there might be an incredible opportunity here... At the Corporation, the Ten Stonehearts held ten cornerstones, something you couldn't get even by working yourself to the bone for a promotion.
What if I could find something here that could replace the cornerstones, or even surpass them?
After all, the Preservation here was much purer than the Corporation's.

Not an idiotic, brainless story. The female lead has multiple one-sided crushes directed at her.
Theme: The Interastral Peace Corporation invites you to join us.
Teacher, our little Xinghejing is only one year old. He is already confused. Don't let your child be fooled.
They are more like friends and family. The girl in the white dress is the 'pure beauty' Idrila, and the wooden man is the 'hunting' Lan.
Good! The latest update of Tiantian Bala finally revealed a great god! After reading the introduction and the first chapter, I knew that Mi's article was completely my cup of tea (I went crazy on the spot) and grabbed a seat before there were many people! I will check my microphone every day to see if there is any update (Devil's Whisper)
I'm not jealous at all that Sha Jin calls himself brother, after all, I want to call him husband.
Brothers and sisters, what a blow! Like some family affection
Nice update! Will Kani have to lose her horse when she goes to Luofu?
When will the author update?
He looks like a big brother 😭 Our little sister always meets a good brother.
It would be great if the two of them could talk about their positions.
This vest is worn but it doesn't look like it's worn at all
