Meng Zhuoqing happened upon a certain Tang novel she loved, stayed up all night reading it, and died suddenly, only to transmigrate.
Good news: She transmigrated into the body of a disposable side character, and her chances of survival are decent.
Bad news: She is an emotionless plot device. Even though she never did anything to the male lead, people have spread rumors that she is a lovesick idiot lusting after him.
So Meng Zhuoqing made a decision that went against her ancestors' teachings: to give up and stop trying! She would avoid contact with the protagonist's group.
And yet, fate works in mysterious ways.
First, she traveled alongside Lin Chen, the beloved male lead from the protagonist's group, and became a disciple of Lingxi Immortal Venerable, the popular male lead in that Tang novel. Then her grandmaster urgently summoned her...
But suddenly, the plot started going off the rails.
The Immortal Venerable, looking stern: "Train hard, and you can attain immortality."
But behind the scenes, he quietly prepared birthday gifts for his two disciples.
Meng Zhuoqing: "Huh?"
The grandmaster, warmly: "Child, this is a new pendant from the Artifact Pavilion. I've already blessed it."
Meng Zhuoqing, moved: "Thank you, Grandmaster!"
The handsome senior brother of the Immortal Zither Sect: "Little Fish, what music would you like to hear? As long as you come to the Mortal World Tower alone for our next appointment."
Meng Zhuoqing: "I... Mmph!"
Lin Chen, his expression a little cold, pulled Meng Zhuoqing away.
"Senior Brother, I've missed you..."
A warm ensemble story with a large cast. (I'm writing and revising as I go, so feel free to wait until there's more to read.)
Theme: Never lose the ability to feel happiness.
