Also known as: "A Depressed Literature Student and Her Entanglements with Three Men"
[Introduction]
In the winter when I was thirty-five, I taught literary studies at the University of Tromso in Norway. After class, a student asked me who the most important people in my life were.
I pushed open the classroom door, and the past came rushing toward me, wrapped in the icy Arctic wind and snow.
Fyodor, Dazai Osamu, and Gogol. It was those three.
I had no passionate, earth-shattering love stories with them, no all-consuming romances that lasted until death.
We had simply met by chance and talked about literature a few times.
Since then, my ghost had wandered through the mortal world for more than a decade. Countless people had come and gone, passing me by, yet they alone had seen my gray soul in the crowd.
[Notes]
1. A long, pure romance story with no plot, and an oppressive tone.
2. The male leads' roles, from largest to smallest: Fyodor, Dazai Osamu, Gogol.
3. "I" am an international student in the literature department, and the story includes extensive discussions of serious literature.
4. "I" have mild mental health issues and am suffering inside.
5. The literary history of the Bungo Stray Dogs world is the same as that of the real world. Authors with names shared by real writers are referred to by initials, such as Mr. D for the historical Dostoevsky and Mr. G for the historical Gogol.
Theme: Searching for the meaning of life
The author will update this article more. I am simply waiting for the stars and the moon.
It's so well written. While praising this kind of writing style, I also feel the pain of not being able to convey my meaning 🙂
