I'm Just Playing a Game. Why Are They Taking It Seriously?

Su Jinrong transmigrated into the single-player game Starbound Voyage, which she had played before.

Su Jinrong: What resources do I have right now?

System: Nothing at all.

Su Jinrong: ...

System: But you can access all the save files from your perfect playthroughs. The treasures you buried are still where you left them, and your past victories have become legends in this world.

Su Jinrong: !

Did that mean she could just dig up all the treasures she had left behind and enjoy a peaceful retirement?

She thought it, so she did it: digging for treasure until her hands were sore and making money until she was giddy with joy.

Su Jinrong: Hahahahahaha! I really am the chosen one!

But as her fame grew, more and more people realized that she was the long-lost legend. Her old friends, followers, and enemies all came looking for her. Some even fought each other just for the chance to meet her.

Her old friend, once the Creator God: Just come with me, and I’ll give you the whole world!

Follower: You are the source of all things, the undying light. If you are willing to reclaim your place as a god, we will serve you for the rest of our lives and gladly die for you!

Her enemy put a knife in her hand and held it to his own throat: If you’d just look at me one more time, you can kill me again...

Su Jinrong: ??? Has the world gone crazy, or have I?

System: After you disappeared (switched games), your old friend searched for you for a thousand years. Your followers knelt before your statue without ever rising, and your enemy developed Stockholm syndrome. He thought he had caused your disappearance, so he killed himself a thousand times.

Su Jinrong: I was just playing a game! Why did they all take it so seriously?!
