Keep Your Pheromones in Check

In his second year of high school, Ruan Bai presented as an omega.

Something went wrong during his presentation, though. His glands were underdeveloped, leaving him with a lack of pheromones.

But he didn't know that!

On his first day back at school, Ruan Bai keenly caught the scent of his deskmate Gu Li's pheromones. They smelled like sweet wine.

Ruan Bai thought it was just a fluke.

The next day, he smelled Gu Li's pheromones again.

So all day long, Ruan Bai was surrounded by that scent, leaving his hands and legs weak and his glands burning.

At last, Ruan Bai couldn't take it anymore. In a tiny voice, he asked Gu Li, "C-could you do something about your pheromones? I-I can't take it anymore."

Gu Li: ...???

Only later did Ruan Bai realize he'd misunderstood Gu Li.

Because his pheromones were deficient, Ruan Bai was unusually sensitive to Gu Li's, and developed an uncontrollable craving for them.

Whenever he went too long without smelling Gu Li's pheromones, he felt as though a cat were clawing at his heart. He became restless, couldn't focus in class, and couldn't sleep. It only got worse over time.

To keep the "craving" that kept flaring up at bay, Ruan Bai had to rack his brains just to get a whiff of Gu Li's pheromones.

Once, after taking a sip of warm water, Ruan Bai suddenly said, "I actually don't like plain water. I like grape juice... Wine would be fine too."

Gu Li: ...

After school that evening, Ruan Bai tugged on Gu Li's uniform jacket. "I heard a glass of wine before bed helps you sleep. I've been having trouble sleeping these past few days, so I could use some wine... Just smelling it would be fine, too."

Gu Li: ...
