Qi Ren's motto in life is, "Treat others the way they treat you."

However people treat him, he treats them the same way.

His big brother used the excuse of studying for the imperial exams to exploit his younger brother and avoid working the fields. His parents treated their second son like an ox, working him to the bone to pay for their eldest son's education.

Qi Ren: I want to study too, and I can pass the exams. So please pour your heart and soul into supporting my great future!

One day, he learns he's the real young master who was switched at birth. His wealthy birth parents tell him, "We've raised him for eighteen years. He's our son, and we hope you won't compete with him for our affection."

Qi Ren doesn't mind at all: "My adoptive parents raised me for eighteen years. They're my real parents, and I should support and honor them. I hope you don't mind."

His girlfriend treats him as a stand-in for her first love: "I only got together with you because you look so much like him. Now that he's back, we should break up."

Qi Ren: "What a coincidence. I only got together with you because you look so much like the goddess I've had a crush on. Then let's break up. I'm going to go after her. Bye!"

The young master of a cultivation clan casually kills his family, simply because he sees the weak as ants.

Qi Ren: "I might not be able to take on your whole cultivation clan right now, but surely I can take on the younger members of your family who are weaker than me. You killed my whole family, so there's nothing wrong with me treating you the way you treated me, right?"

A bullying victim has nowhere to turn for help. The school sweeps things under the rug, and the bully's parents refuse to discipline their child, letting them torment the victim mercilessly.

Qi Ren: "If the bully can do whatever they want with no one holding them accountable, then there's nothing wrong with me fighting back, right? I'm a minor too!"

PS: Unhinged fiction, pure catharsis! The protagonist's mental state is gorgeous. How can anyone live without going a little crazy? Going off the rails is better for your mental health!

Theme: If you repay kindness with resentment, what will you repay kindness with?
