Then, while they're out on a mission together, they discover that the monster is much stronger than expected.
Xie Qiu cries in terror, "Master, are we about to die?"
Bai Yanshu calmly replies, "This? Your master can make it disappear with a snap of his fingers."
The result: both master and disciple get sent flying by the monster.
Just as Xie Qiu thinks his life is over, his master, who's been watching from the sidelines, suddenly turns around and smashes the big boss to smithereens!
Xie Qiu bursts into tears of relief. "Master, you finally did something!"
Bai Yanshu shakes his head, completely nonchalant. "Go back and study your spells properly. Next time, don't waste your master's time with trash like that."
