Rumor has it that the Fernandez family are the Grim Reaper's claws, spreading the divine revelations of Thanatos among humankind. Just as their surname suggests, Fernandez means "people from afar." They always live apart from others, appearing only before the Grim Reaper arrives. There's a saying in the magical world: If Cassandra tells you you're going to die, you still have a chance of being saved; if a Fernandez tells you you're going to die, you'd better pick out a grave soon.
Fifty years later, when a girl from the Fernandez family steps into Hogwarts once again, what kind of waves will she make?
Jatika Fernandez: That's not true, not at all. I just want to become an utterly ordinary portrait artist.
Jatika has eyes that can see through death, but she cannot stop death from coming.
Joe tells his granddaughter that death is merely the silence that follows grandeur, and to face it with composure. Lauren tells her daughter that death is merely the unknown beyond what we know, and to face it rationally.
Later, Jatika says, "I'm not the nightmare that comes before the Grim Reaper. I'm merely the final rhyme in a life."
She can't change the fates of those doomed to die. She only wants to make their deaths less agonizing.
Theme: Ever wonder who painted all the portraits in the magical world?
