Tsukushi Sumire is an utterly ordinary passerby A, with a secret identity as a manga artist.
Naturally inconspicuous, she often startles people because of it. But it also makes it easy to observe humanity, so she doesn't mind.
She's the background extra cheering at sports competitions, the third witness to a confession beneath the cherry blossoms. In short, wherever there's material suitable for a manga, Tsukushi Sumire is probably there.
To research a supporting character who would soon appear in her new story, she begins observing the volleyball club at her school.
A friend tells her that people at the volleyball club often accidentally hit bystanders. Luckily, thanks to her unusual constitution, even stray shots don't seem to have it in for her.
During club activities, she starts sneaking into Aoba Johsai's volleyball club, crouching in a shadowy corner with her sketchbook to take notes.
Until one day, when she goes to observe the players as usual.
With a loud "Thwack!"
A powerful spike hits Tsukushi Sumire squarely in the head.
"...Was someone there?"
"Did I hear a girl's voice...?"
As she holds her forehead and sees the dazzlingly handsome boy walking toward her, only one thought remains in Tsukushi Sumire's mind.
...She's doomed. Her peaceful life is over.

Being inconspicuous is a bit like Kuroko's presence, but not quite that extreme.
The story is mainly set in Miyagi. Whether it'll be Aoba Johsai is still undecided, and I haven't figured out the rest yet.
Theme: Everyone is the protagonist of their own story
