Mistakenly Adorned in Red

The ancient twin-flower spirit Bai Chu descended into the world. At the second stage, it could take human form; at the third, it could take the form of a beast. Wen Ningyu and his younger sister were the last descendants of Bai Chu. To protect his sister, Wen Ningyu was forced to assume another identity, enter a gloomy manor of ghosts, and become the new bride of a disfigured, disgraced general of the ghost realm.

The moment his red bridal veil was lifted, Wen Ningyu thought his life was over. Unexpectedly, Wei Changyan had already discovered his identity, yet still let him stay in the manor.

Wen Ningyu knew he didn't understand the ways of the world. After all, he was only a flower that had just reached the second stage. But!

He felt the general was acting very strangely toward him.

The first time, he was healing in the Tranquil Flower Pool. The general, despite being human, saw his flower vines and tore them off!

The second time, while teaching him to read, the general took the opportunity to braid his flower vines into butterflies!

Later, the general took him to see wonders throughout the three realms and gave him a pair of intertwined love bells, unlocking the spell that bound the twins.

Wei Changyan, a general of the Underworld, was abandoned in the mountains as a child by his father's second wife and left to fend for himself. He was lucky enough to be raised by a wolf pack, and the Ghost King took notice of his tenacity.

After several major battles in the army, he was framed by a spy, disfigured, and stripped of his martial arts. He disguised himself as a powerless cripple, and for years no woman in the world dared to marry him.

Until a flower spirit entered the Underworld by assuming another's identity and marrying him. Wei Changyan began to see the mortal world in a different light.

He thought the flower spirit was harmless, and that his manor was dreadfully dull, so he let him stay, thinking he could amuse himself by teasing him when bored.

Little did he know that with time, he would find himself thrown into turmoil by the weakness of his beloved, who was one half of a twin flower. He took him through all three realms and used the clumsiest means to treasure the splendor reflected in his eyes.
