After suffering an infection, Lu Shangbai, the Interstellar Chief Trader of that year, chose to leave space for a while and return to his home planet to recuperate. He never expected the authorities on the ground to arrange a marriage for him, with a mole sent to spy on him as his partner.

That gave Lu Shangbai a new nemesis. Bound by a legal marriage, they seemed affectionate on the surface but were at each other's throats underneath. He made things difficult for his partner at every turn, while the other secretly kept him under control.

What Lu Shangbai liked best was his partner's handsome, alluring appearance. Grinning, he even told him, "As far as I'm concerned, being good-looking and useful is enough. I don't need anything else, and there's nothing more between us."

On the brink of death, Lu Shangbai received a message from a stranger: "I wish you freedom, and a long life."
