As a common Omega, Yuan Yuan had never dreamed of landing an elite Alpha. Before meeting Gu Nanzheng, his dream had always been to find a common Alpha or a Beta and live an uneventful life.

But things don't always go as planned. After mistaking his voice for his friend's at the entrance to an alley, he rescued this elite Alpha, famous at S University, but still managed to get on his bad side. Of course, he didn't know that at the time.

Someone as unremarkable as the youngest son of a nouveau riche family wouldn't normally have had much chance of crossing paths with him. Who could have guessed that a university event would bring him right to Gu Nanzheng? How could Gu Nanzheng let such a good opportunity slip by?

Gu Nanzheng was surprised when he heard sirens coming from the alley. Ever since joining the family company ahead of schedule, he had made plenty of enemies, both openly and behind the scenes. Not one of them wished him well. He never expected someone to save him this time.

But just before he stepped out of the alley, he heard the other person murmur, "Sorry, Shunzi. This is as far as I can help you."

Shunzi? It took him less than a second to figure out what had happened.

It was a novel experience. This was the first time anyone had ever mistaken him for someone else!

The incident would have faded into the past with time, but then, on a chance visit back to campus, that person was delivered right to him. With such a good opportunity, Gu Nanzheng naturally wasn't going to let it go!

And so, two people who should never have crossed paths met by a twist of fate...

One day after they became friends, Gu Nanzheng took time off to rest at home because his rut was approaching. Yuan Yuan, who considered them friends now, volunteered to look after him. But halfway through, he got a call from Shunzi. He immediately wanted to leave, but Gu Nanzheng grabbed his hand and wouldn't let go. This was how their conversation went:

Gu Nanzheng, incredulous: "You're really going to leave me and go see him?"

Yuan Yuan, troubled: "But he's... hurt..."

Gu Nanzheng, matter-of-factly: "But I'm going into rut!"

Yuan Yuan, confused: "Then shouldn't you be resting at home?"

Gu Nanzheng, anger 1000+, hurt 5000: But my rut came early because of you!

Even so, Yuan Yuan went to see Shunzi...

From that day on, Gu Nanzheng made finding Shunzi a partner one of his priorities...

Later, Shunzi finally found his beloved little Beta. When he saw Yuan Yuan arrive at a gathering with Gu Nanzheng's arm around him, he pointed at Gu Nanzheng and scolded him. "So this is what you were after all along!"

Yuan Yuan looked up at the person beside him in confusion. "What was he after?"

Gu Nanzheng didn't feel guilty in the slightest. Instead, he pulled Yuan Yuan even closer, as if staking his claim. "What could I be after? My heart is already yours." Then he kissed Yuan Yuan's fair, rosy cheek hard. Afterward, he narrowed his eyes, looking thoroughly satisfied.

And so, Yuan Yuan, a common Omega, ended up with an elite Alpha boyfriend...

As for how that elite Alpha boyfriend later willingly let Yuan Yuan bite his Adam's apple and inject him with pheromones, choosing to become his one and only partner, that's a story for later...

Extra scene:

After Gu Nanzheng fell for Yuan Yuan, Lu Jingyu, one of Gu Nanzheng's good friends, suddenly noticed that he'd developed a fondness for fruit.

That was all well and good, except he only seemed to like citrus, which looked completely ordinary, even a little ugly. Sometimes he'd eat it with a strange, blissful smile that was downright unsettling.

Lu Jingyu didn't figure out why until Yuan Yuan once spent Gu Nanzheng's rut with him. When he caught the strong scent of pheromones on his friend's body, he finally understood...

At that moment, he realized it didn't smell like citrus at all. It smelled like public displays of affection!

1. Updates are tentatively scheduled for 8:30 p.m. when chapters are ready in advance, and 10:30 p.m. when they aren't. No weekend updates.

2. This story includes extensive original worldbuilding. In addition to the existing A/B/O setting, I've added a personal setting: there are three kinds of bonds between Omegas and Alphas. The original two are the temporary mark, made by biting the gland on the neck, and the complete mark, made through knotting during sex. The third is when an Alpha lets an Omega bite their Adam's apple and inject their pheromones. This makes the Omega the Alpha's one and only partner. If an A/O pair completes the second and third kinds of bonds, they become each other's one and only. Please read only if you're okay with this.
