The Nun Is Not Chanting Today

Hong He is the most unruly female demon in the Tianji Zen Sect. But even more famous than her brutality and lack of reason is her background. She was born to a living Buddha of the Zen Sect and a woman from a pleasure house in the mortal world. Without her exceptional talent, she would never have had a chance to enter the Zen Sect and cultivate immortality. She might not even have survived.

Everyone in the cultivation world says Hong He is brutal and unworthy of being the daughter of a living Buddha. But who knows how much she loathes the blood of her father's line flowing through her veins? Who knows that, despite her extraordinary talent, she was raised by her own father as a vessel for his beloved?

She refuses to accept this. She wants to live. She can only be herself, only Hong He.

Xiao Ye is refined and gentle, kind to everyone, and the most honorable and upright of the Tianji demonic cultivators. The moment he first met the little demon of the Zen Sect, he knew he had something she wanted. And that thing was precisely the shackle he most wanted to cast off: karmic fire.

He wanted to be rid of it, of course, but the thought of letting the little demon get it so easily still left him feeling rather dissatisfied.

Well, if something comes too easily, how could you possibly treasure it?
