I forgot to mention: for some well-known reasons, I quit the game a long time ago. While sorting through the merchandise I'd bought over the past couple of years today, I suddenly remembered this story. More than two years have passed, and I still haven't found any new inspiration or written another word about Cain. I didn't quit because of Cain, but because of some bigger things I couldn't forgive. I won't go into them; anyone who was in the fandom probably knows.
This collection contains complete short stories that can each be read on their own, so I don't think it counts as an abandoned story. I still have a few ideas sitting in my drafts that I wanted to write, but I can't quite manage it anymore. That's really because I haven't played the game in so long that I can't portray the characters accurately. So this story will probably end here. Any future updates would likely just be revisions, unless I suddenly feel inspired to write again someday. I don't know if that day will ever come.
