A peach blossom fan, and a world of bloody turmoil. After learning the truth behind the Cold Spring Sect's massacre ten years ago, what will the young master Zhuo Yu do in the face of his family's blood feud?
The current prince usurps the throne, trusts corrupt eunuchs, and leaves the country beset by internal and external crises, with the people suffering. Xie Bi, master of Xuanyu Palace, has long hidden away among the martial world after falling into obscurity among ordinary folk. Faced with trouble on the southern frontier and turmoil at court, what choice will he make?
Will the master and disciple, Xie and Zhuo, ever again have the chance to admire spring flowers together and share a drink of fine wine?
Because Zhuo Yu bears the Cold Spring Sect's sacred treasure, the Phoenix Blood, he has the potential to master the world's greatest martial arts. But the Cold Spring Sect's techniques, though powerful, are sinister. For him to master the Phoenix bloodline, someone must willingly exchange their life for his. Yet everyone in the martial world wants him dead. Is there anyone who can save him?
Zhuo Yu is an upright man who often champions justice as he travels the martial world. But just because he's the son of Zhuo Qingyang, the former leader of the Demon Cult, does he deserve to be hunted down and killed? Or are those self-proclaimed righteous people simply coveting the Phoenix Blood in his veins, which is why they're so desperate to take his life?
A treasure brings the crime of possessing it.
Years later, Xie Bi asks him, "If you could live another life, would you still want such a thrilling existence?"
Zhuo Yu smiles without answering. After a long pause, he says, "Those who wanted to kill me destroyed many things, but I don't regret bearing this treasure."
"Oh?"
"If there's another life, I'll still ask the immortals to turn me into a child who bears a priceless treasure, so that my master will find me and take me in."
Outside the lattice window, orchids bloom in profusion, their pale pink and white fragrance filling the library. Spring has come to Xuanyu Tower.
