Chen Yining's friend set her up on a blind date.

On the day they met, Chen Yining realized that her blind date was her senior from high school. Chen Yining laughed and said, "What a coincidence."
The blind date went unexpectedly well. They chatted about everything and agreed on most things when it came to marriage. Neither wanted to marry too young, but their families were pressuring them, so they agreed to be each other's stand-in partners for a few years. If either of them fell for someone else, they'd divorce right away.
Chen Yining was quite happy with the arrangement.

But Chen Yining had no idea that her blind date had been plotting this for a long time, having had a crush on her since high school.
A week went by, and neither of them contacted the other.
Late at night, someone slept soundly, while someone else stayed awake all night.
