You're caught up in a wasteland game where the logout button has disappeared.
Every player has been disconnected from reality and become another version of themselves in a parallel world.
Game skills have become supernatural abilities that can be used in real life. Pollution, monsters, and bloody battles are all real.
Players have been given an ultimate mission: kill every last pollutant to log out.
You curiously check your character screen, only to find your HP plummeting. Somehow, black liquid has crawled over your entire body.
It worms down your throat and into your stomach, while black slime spills from between your lips and teeth.
When it's thirsty, it drinks your blood. When it's hungry, it eats your flesh.
The player title in your stats turns gray in an instant. Your suffix changes to "-Deceased-NPC-Pollutant," and your ultimate mission becomes escaping the joint pursuit of players and native inhabitants.
That's when you see your skill.
[Tang Chi: Flesh Regeneration - Monster Rearing Lv. 1]
[Original]
The full-dive wasteland game Pollution is offering a limited number of beta-test slots. After Tang Chi misses his chance to buy one, he receives an extra cyber helmet.
In the game, he's an NPC assigned to a pollution research institute, with a liquid monster rated Hazard Level S under his supervision.
Because his game skill awakens as "Flesh Regeneration," Tang Chi doesn't die after being eaten. Before long, the monster develops a taste for him.
It worms down his throat and into his stomach, while black slime spills from between his lips and teeth.
When it's thirsty, it drinks his blood. When it's hungry, it eats his flesh.
It forms a heart with its slime, goes berserk when he's hurt, and presses its face to his after eating someone else, giving him little kisses. In a voice that can't quite manage human speech, it coos:
"Eat... Chi... They aren't... as tasty as you."
Tang Chi: ...Just destroy the world already. Get it over with.
But then everything takes a sudden turn. Tang Chi soon discovers that he's not playing some full-dive game at all. He's transmigrated to a real parallel world.
The players are trapped by their helmets, forced to play a death game with no logout button.
A forest of steel and ruins stretches around them, while pollution, filth, and bloodshed descend from the shadows.
Tang Chi appears to be an NPC, but is actually a player. He's been placed on both sides' wanted lists and has to spy on each side for the other.
Tang Chi, with absolutely no combat skills: :) Double agents never get a happy ending! System, look at the damn missions you've given me!

After surviving to the end of the game with the monster, Tang Chi finally returns to the real world. He promptly throws his helmet far away and quits all video games for good.
But the game screen appears again. Pollution has truly arrived.
A frenzied god unleashes divine punishment, and countless pollutants are born into the world. The wasteland is about to merge with reality.
They say only "Professor Tang," who has achieved the highest accomplishments in the game, has the power to tame the gods, but no one named Tang appears on the beta-test roster.
People speculate that his account was deleted, or that he bravely sacrificed himself to beat the game.
Tang Chi, who went into hiding so he wouldn't be eaten again: ...
*Cold, unhinged bottom x pathological monster top
*Power-up wish fulfillment, melodramatic romance, and an ever-increasing Sanity loss
*Titles that fit the story while sounding a little literary: "The Parasite" and "You Look Delicious"
Theme: I decide my own fate
