(Formerly titled I Refuse to Be a Player in a Horror Game)
Putao is a high school delinquent NPC in a horror game. He goes to school and messes with players by day, then goes home and sleeps soundly at night.
Until one day, the System glitched. Wearing a red tank top and oversized shorts, he was forcibly spawned in a cold, dark classroom in the middle of the night
Putao clenched his fists!
"System, get out here! Let's talk about the Labor Protection Law!"
The System didn't show up, but a man covered in blood, carrying a long blade, appeared at the end of the corridor.
The man seized the NPC he'd been "bullying" during the day and slowly drew his blade:
"You have... quite a distinctive taste, classmate."
Putao kept a blank expression and raised the white flag. Knowing when to back off from a man makes you a wise man!
To get rid of the man who kept clinging to him like a "snake," Putao took the initiative to cosplay as a player and respectfully escorted every player out of the school gates.
Watching the "snake" leave, reluctant but walking very fast, Putao wept with joy.
He thought his work was done, but the next moment, his vision went black and the System's voice suddenly rang out:
"Non-player character 001, welcome to the instance: Your House, My Home."
"As the guardian of this round, eliminate all players who break the rules."
Putao: ...
Of course, worse than becoming a boss was the fact that his nemesis, the "snake," was there too!
The snake flicked its tongue with a soft hiss, then spoke:
"You're chasing me so closely, classmate. Do you like me?"
Putao's mouth twitched, fire blazing in his eyes
If he didn't skin this "snake" named Lin Yun today, he'd become a player instead!
[Bonus Scene One]
After recovering his memories, Putao did three things:
1. He blew up the human-shaped monster that the System had disguised itself as, turning it into fireworks.
Lin Yun applauded elegantly from the side. "What a sweetheart, showing respect for your elders by setting off firecrackers for the old folks."
2. He hung the little troublemaker who looked exactly like Lin Yun from the highest tree in the instance.
Lin Yun pressed a hand to his chest, eyes full of affection. "What a sweetheart, looking after the young and giving him a chance to broaden his horizons."
3. He tied Lin Yun up like a silkworm pupa and threw him into the instance's monster-spawning cage.
Putao looked down at him, casually twirling a cleaver in his hand.
"Go on, why are you so quiet now?"
Lin Yun blinked, his tone innocent:
"Well... when my darling speaks, I have to follow the rules of being a good husband."
[Bonus Scene Two]
His friend never expected to see Lin Yun, who had been dead for half a year, in a horror game. Even more surprising, this famously arrogant darling of the heavens was trailing a sickly NPC like a little tail!
His friend was beside himself with grief. "Bro, get a grip! That's your 'dad's' crush!"
Lin Yun kept his eyes fixed on Putao, who had just undergone surgery. "Oh. I love him even more now."
His friend: ?
