Could I Be an Evil God?

Zhong Yi, a game designer fired for his excessively bizarre tastes and repeatedly refusing to change, stepped into a horror-game livestream on his way home.

Of course, he was the unlucky contestant being livestreamed.

As ghosts and monsters charged at him, the livestream chat and the other players screamed in panic. Zhong Yi's first reaction was: "Ew, it's so pretty. How is that a monster?"

It didn't take long for everyone to realize that this newcomer had a very unusual personality.

Faced with the bride in red from an ancient village, Zhong Yi fished the bride's corpse, which had been soaking at the bottom of a well for ages, out of the water and introduced it to the other players: "Look, now that's a proper design for a vengeful ghost!"

·

Chat: "...Seal it back up already! The boss is even stronger now!"

But the bride in red merely gave Zhong Yi a resentful look, then jumped back into the well.

Among the fleet of starships bound for an ocean planet, a stunningly beautiful outsider appeared. Zhong Yi immediately pulled the monster hiding in the walls out into the open. "Ha! Now that's a proper follower of an Outer God! Beautiful!"

·

Chat: "WTF! That outsider changed! They're the mole!"

But the follower of the Outer God merely withdrew its tentacles with a sigh and returned to the nebula.

In the haunted mansion, monsters rampaged everywhere, each one more beautiful than the last. The players were dazzled.

Watching monsters that were completely at odds with his tastes reap the players' lives, Zhong Yi wilted. "One star, all of them!"

"Monsters should look like monsters! How can they be designed to look this good?"

The moment he finished speaking, the entire mansion froze.

When Zhong Yi looked up again, the world before him had been turned upside down.

A colossal mountain of flesh devoured humans. It was the Devouring Demon, who had just been short, shy, and cute.

The werewolf, with its gleaming fangs, pointed ears, and sharp claws, wiped human blood from its fingertips. It looked nothing like the cheerful, sunny creature from before.

And the strange young man who had always been refined and courteous had transformed into a twisted, hideous being too terrible to look at. He carefully stepped before Zhong Yi and bowed at his feet, obsessive and fervent.

"Everything is as you wished."

"Our Creator."
