Blurb:
I was guided by a strange dream, and on the fourth day of the apocalypse, I managed to escape back to the village where I grew up.
On the tenth day, someone knocked on the door. A handsome guy in a floral padded jacket stood outside my house. Seeing the amazement in my eyes, he bashfully scratched his head. His hand slipped, and a whole sack of live chickens and ducks ran into my house. “Old classmate, long time no see.”
For the sake of a bite of meat, I took his hand even though I didn't recognize him, then shut the door and wept with joy. “My dear old classmate! I'm so glad you're alive. You shouldn't have brought a gift. Come on in and sit down!”

I had an elementary school classmate who was ugly, mute, and always crying. Even when he was bullied, he wouldn't say anything. He just cried.
I loved wiping away his tears, because his face was smooth, soft, and tender. Pinching it was like squeezing a fish ball.
After my grandmother died, I left the village to go to school in the city and never returned. I'd long since forgotten him.

“Forget me.”
It wasn't until one day, when I was saying goodbye to that person and he wiped away my tears, that I suddenly remembered his real name.
Back then, I was so surprised to hear a mute person speak that I forgot to listen to his first introduction
He ran after the bus bound for the city and shouted, “I'm the Mountain God. The ‘shan’ in mountain, the ‘shen’ in divine. Don't forget me!”

Shenqi: The aura of a deity; also means looking pleased or proud. It is used in the latter sense here.
[The first ten chapters are written in first person, telling the story from the heroine's perspective as an ordinary person. From chapter eleven onward, the story switches to third person. At that stage, the heroine inherits the Mountain God's power and becomes the Mountain God. The author feels that third-person narration is a better fit. Enjoy the story, and thank you for adding it to your collection!]
Theme: Being with you or not is the measure by which I track time.
