After I Picked Up a Mountain Demon

In a torrential downpour, Ping Ning was returning to the capital by carriage when she accidentally plunged off a cliff. She woke at the bottom, aching all over.

The young man lifted his head from her arm and grinned. His sharp fangs were stained with blood as he said, "So you're not dead yet."

Ping Ning gazed at the man-eating demon in the mountains. Her pale, beautiful face slowly curved into a smile.

She thought of a kitten she'd once raised: pitiful and bedraggled, yet vicious enough to hurt people.
