"Romance-focused blurb"
In her previous life, Ming Zhen really pitied Jiang Ruoying, who had lost her parents at a young age. She looked after her in every way, and even had her own dantian shattered for Jiang Ruoying's sake. When Jiang Ruoying confessed her feelings, Ming Zhen agreed out of guilt.
Only when Jiang Ruoying skinned her and tore out her bones did Ming Zhen realize that Jiang Ruoying had always resented and hated her.
Having miraculously lived again, Ming Zhen held no grudge, but she was unwilling to go near Jiang Ruoying ever again.
Ming Zhen had intended to devote herself to the Dao and cut off all romantic attachments. But whenever she drew near her master, Yuan Guanmiao, her heart raced and her cheeks flushed, beyond her control.
Ming Zhen helped her bathe and change, and attended to her feet before she went to bed. Whenever her thoughts wandered, she told herself that it was simply a disciple's duty and a sign of their deep bond as master and disciple.
Then, in a secret realm, she met a sword cultivator who looked very much like Yuan Guanmiao. Ming Zhen hit it off with her at once, took her as a confidante, and became closer to her, gradually developing feelings for her.
But when her confidante lowered her eyes, blushing and waiting for a kiss, Ming Zhen finally realized that her feelings had arisen only because her confidante resembled Yuan Guanmiao so much.
Overcome with shame, Ming Zhen confessed the truth to her confidante. After a long silence, the woman said that the person in Ming Zhen's heart did not seem so indifferent.
Ming Zhen smiled bitterly. Anyone could fall in love with her master, except her. Her confidante was displeased and stormed off.
Now that she understood her feelings, Ming Zhen found them even harder to restrain around Yuan Guanmiao. Afraid that Yuan Guanmiao would notice, she could only pretend to keep her distance. But when Yuan Guanmiao actually treated her coldly, Ming Zhen's heart ached and her eyes stung.
When she was trapped and at the end of her rope, she saw Yuan Guanmiao arrive, drenched in blood and carrying a blade.
Ming Zhen: ? Isn't Master a spell cultivator?
Looking closer: ? Isn't that her confidante's signature blade?
So all those moments when she couldn't help herself hadn't been one-sided after all.
Ming Zhen: So Master really was flirting with me all along, wasn't she?
Yuan Guanmiao: I hate that you're such a blockhead.
"Plot-focused blurb"
Human life begins in the mother's womb. Women are the natural leaders of the world, as is only ordinary.
Yet some male cultivators claim that Qian is Heaven and Kun is Earth, that the Qian Dao produces men and the Kun Dao produces women, and that Heaven's exalted status and Earth's lowly one are what make things follow nature.
How reasonable, the female cultivators thought, suddenly enlightened.
Since the world is built on a binary opposition, why not unite it under one principle? Then the world would have no distinction between high and low.
"Reading guide"
1. The setting is a matriarchal society where women and men are equal. This means (1) unless there's a special reason, characters take their mother's surname; (2) characters are female by default unless their gender is specified when they appear; (3) male-centered terms in the text have been adjusted accordingly.
2. A seemingly aloof but actually proud, tsundere, subtly flirtatious master
&
An earnest, pure-hearted, slightly insecure, loyal puppy of a disciple.
3. I would describe this as a heartfelt, women-loving work with a positive message and zero male content, suitable for readers who don't enjoy men getting all the spotlight.
Theme: Have the courage to face your true self, and promote women's independence and strength
