Jiang Qi and Gu Shiyi went to the same school and class from kindergarten through high school, and fought for more than a decade.

Jiang Qi firmly believed two things: First, he was straight.

Second, Gu Shiyi was the person he hated most in the world.

Then, on the night of their graduation, they got drunk and ended up in the same bed.

The next day, Jiang Qi climbed out of bed, grimacing in pain.

One day he asked if Jiang Qi was still throwing up, the next if he'd gone for a prenatal checkup, and the day after that he brought him folic acid. Jiang Qi was sick of it and asked what he was after.

Gu Shiyi couldn't explain it himself.

He just couldn't relax unless he checked in.

Jiang Qi felt he couldn't stay at the company any longer. First, his belly would eventually show. Second, his sworn enemy worked at the same company and kept asking him about his pregnancy every day. He was going to go crazy.

He checked his savings, quit his job, and planned to rent a place in his hometown, have the baby, then return to the city to find work.

A blizzard hit along the way.

When Jiang Qi woke up, he couldn't remember a thing.

The police searched his phone and found a bunch of chat logs with someone named “Jerk,” all about pregnancy. They didn't really understand what was going on between the two of them, but they managed to get in touch with Jerk.

When the call came through, Gu Shiyi was searching everywhere for him. He'd heard that Jiang Qi had quit his job, disappeared, and wasn't answering his phone. He was nearly frantic.

In the hospital room, Jiang Qi stared in confusion at the man who rushed in.

“Who are you?”

Gu Shiyi froze for a moment. Then he came over, sat on the edge of the bed, reached out to stroke Jiang Qi's head, and smiled.

“Baby, I'm your husband.”
