After her family falls on hard times, Xia Sui is sent to live with the Shen family.

To avoid being disliked, the rebellious girl hides her claws and acts like a docile little white rabbit, planning to start with the Shen family's only son, Shen Yin.

Shen Yin is calm and refined, excels both academically and morally, and stands out in every way except that he has been sickly since childhood.

Everyone thinks he's a gentle, warm-hearted young man. Shen Yin often smiles at her tenderly and calls her "little sister."

Only Xia Sui can see that he's nothing like that.

On a stormy night, the room is sealed tight, and the wooden slats creak.

Xia Sui says numbly, "How much longer until you'll let me go?"

Their breaths mingle at an uncomfortably close distance. Shen Yin kneels beside her, gently stroking her cheek with his fingertip.

He smiles and rings a bell. "Oh? That's not what you said when you were crouched beside me, sneaking a kiss."

As her boyfriend gets down on one knee to propose, Fang Wan reaches out while watching Chen Yiqing from the corner of her eye.

Fang Wan loops her arm through her boyfriend's and smiles sweetly, not taking it to heart at all.

In the past, she had been unwilling to accept it, unable to understand why her brother had withdrawn all his affection for her overnight. She had even started a campaign of revenge against him because of it.

Thinking back to Chen Yiqing's gaze the morning after their night of reckless passion, she can only think how foolish she was.

What a joke. How could Chen Yiqing ever fall in love with her?

But when the banquet ends and she comes out of the restroom, someone grabs her wrist and pulls her into a deserted, shadowy corner.

"Haven't you had enough?" The man she first called "big brother" when she learned to speak now ruthlessly pulls her engagement ring off and throws it into the trash.

"Had enough? Do I look like I'm having fun?" Fang Wan pulls her hand back. "Enough, big brother. We're still siblings from now on. Don't do this again."

Fang Wan pushes him away and gets ready to leave.

Chen Yiqing suddenly kisses her from behind.

The sound of their passionate kiss rings in her ears. Chen Yiqing's voice is hoarse. "Fang Wan, look me in the eyes and tell me, who wants to be siblings with you?"
