This story may really end up updating only when inspiration strikes. I'm very sorry. I had such beautiful plans, but when I actually started writing, I lost the desire to express myself. It feels like I'm forcing myself to write every single day. Maybe I'm really not suited to writing modern romance... A story written this way would also be irresponsible...
Childhood sweethearts / marriage before love / chasing the wife to the crematorium / she secretly loves him / he's eight years older
Innocent, romantic good girl x cold, powerful man who bows his head
As everyone knows, Wei Er from Shengting Group has always been decisive and ruthless, cold as ice to everyone. There is only one exception. People guessed that
this person must be Wei Er's lifeline.
And sure enough, the two got married.
Whenever people mentioned this perfect couple, they couldn't help envying their relationship.
But Chi Yangyang, the woman at the center of all the gossip, knew very well that she was not Wei Xu's weakness.
On Chi Yangyang's birthday, after a family dinner, the two finally had some time alone at home. Chi Yangyang flipped through the latest financial magazine and found an interview with Wei Xu. Once again, the words "loving couple" appeared in it.
In one of the lighthearted questions, the reporter asked, "Mr. Wei, you're so young and successful. Your wife must be very happy, right?"
Was she happy? Chi Yangyang thought about everything that had happened since their marriage, then saw Wei Xu's confident answer in the magazine. A glimmer of hope rose in her heart.
She glanced at the man sitting nearby, frowning slightly as he replied to a WeChat message, and couldn't stop herself from asking, "Brother Xu, do you... like me, even just a little?"
Wei Xu held his phone to his ear. Chi Yangyang heard a woman's voice coming from it.
She heard Wei Xu reply, "I'll be right there." He grabbed his coat and was about to leave.
"Wei Xu, are you going to see her again today?" Chi Yangyang called out.
The man she'd loved for so many years stopped. "Something came up. I'll come back and explain."
Chi Yangyang lowered her head and smiled bitterly. Should she be satisfied just to get an explanation?
Yes, Wei Xu could give her many things. The one thing he would never give her was his heart.
Because Wei Xu had a white moonlight.
So Chi Yangyang divorced Wei Xu and ran away.
Many days after Chi Yangyang left, Wei Xu still hadn't gotten used to it.
Out of habit, he called her name, hoping she would smile at him again.
But the empty room gave him the most honest answer. Wei Xu understood: this time, Chi Yangyang had truly left.
At a charity gala, Wei Xu thought he was dreaming.
He saw Chi Yangyang in a white dress, smiling as she slowly descended the stairs with the arm of the person he hated most linked through hers.
When she finally reached him, beautiful and graceful, she smiled and held out her hand. "Wei Xu, long time no see."
Wei Xu's eyes reddened, and his face darkened. He wanted nothing more than to make Chi Yangyang lie obediently in his arms right away.
So he did just that.
Pinning Chi Yangyang down, he demanded viciously, "Will you run away again? Will you put your arms around another man again?"
Chi Yangyang's eyes filled with tears as she shook her head desperately beneath Wei Xu's frenzied advances.
But when she woke up the next morning, Chi Yangyang had run away again.
Wei Xu had always thought that marrying him was Chi Yangyang's wish.
It turned out that being with Chi Yangyang again was what he had dreamed of most.
Chi Yangyang was like a pool of spring water, and he was drowning in her.

[Reader's Guide]
1. Both leads are virgins. The male lead is somewhat cold at first. He'll do anything the female lead asks, but he has no heart and no love for her. Please bear with me if the plot gets melodramatic.
2. The male lead really does have a "white moonlight." Feel free to curse him out, but go a little easy on him. He's never been in a relationship before and thinks that sort of thing counts as a "white moonlight."
3. The female lead isn't a "maid" to the male lead. He just realizes it too late.
4. The author doesn't favor either the female or male lead. Given the premise, both leads are bound to suffer. Every plot point is here to make the story better. (Just think about it: how could a newbie author like me have so many ulterior motives, right~)
