After two years ruling the bizarre world, Chi Youxing, the renowned number-one player on the instance leaderboard, suddenly faced a problem she couldn't solve.

A rookie who had teamed up with her to clear an instance had followed her around ever since, claiming to have "lost her memory." Like a tail, she couldn't be shaken off. Whenever Chi Youxing lost her temper, the newcomer would stare right at her with eyes that seemed to speak, their gaze damp with helpless softness.

But this pretty older sister was clever and a great cook, making her excellent support in a horror instance. Chi Youxing decided to keep her around for now, make use of her, then kill her.

Ming Yu had the perfect plan.

Show a little weakness to put Chi Youxing at ease, follow the powerful player's lead and quietly build up her strength, then kill her when her guard was down and take her place as the heroine.

Chi Youxing was strong, but an absolute airhead. Every time Ming Yu subtly led her into danger, she would escape by the skin of her teeth, then stumble straight back to Ming Yu and hold her tight with bloodied hands.

Every time that happened, Ming Yu couldn't help softening, and threw herself into this increasingly out-of-control game of hunter and prey.

After risking their lives and relying on each other time and again, as events became more and more impossible to control, Ming Yu finally resolved to leave.

That night, however, Chi Youxing drank the poison Ming Yu handed her in one gulp. Blood glistened on her lips. Looking at the gleaming blade pressed to her neck, she pulled Ming Yu by the waist and toppled them onto the bed.
