Mu Jia first meets Qi Yu on one of the countless days she'd spent struggling to learn the driving test's second section.
With her enormous number of practice hours, she'd become the driving school's reigning terror.
The irresponsible instructor assumed that after so many days of hard practice, she must have made impressive progress, and enthusiastically introduced their senior student to the newcomers. “She's been practicing for ages. Let her show you how it's done.”
The result: She drove with impressive intensity, but failed to back into the garage on all three attempts.
The instructor wiped the sweat from his forehead and awkwardly changed his story. “She hasn't really been practicing that long. Let me tell you...”
At that moment, Qi Yu couldn't help laughing.
And so, an unexpected connection began.
One day later on, their two academic groups got together to play Truth or Dare.
A friend asked Qi Yu what Mu Jia had done that made his heart flutter the most.
Without hesitation, he answered: “When she was practicing hill starts. She stalled at the top, and the car kept sliding backward.”
The friend then asked Mu Jia which moment with Qi Yu had made her heart flutter the most.
She answered decisively, without even thinking: “When he pressed the accelerator and clutch at the same time and the car froze like a PowerPoint presentation.”
Qi Yu has always thought some people are incredible, sweeping into your world like a gust of wind.
At times passionate, at times gentle, they leave you dizzy and distracted.
Perhaps it was when they took an oath together to get their driver's licenses, or perhaps it was when he met her at a group meeting.
In that moment, he knew she was his unexpected encounter.
The person in question, “Unexpected Encounter,” is completely baffled. “How can anyone like group meetings?”
