Transmigrating into Dream of the Red Chamber: Jia Lan

Some have said that Jia Lan is the most unusual character Cao Xueqin created in Dream of the Red Chamber. He is the legitimate grandson of the Jia family, yet he is less favored than Baoyu. He excels in both literary and martial arts, yet nobody ever mentions him. The Jia family pays him little attention, yet in the end he passes the imperial exams and brings glory to his family. He lives in the Red Chamber, yet seems to stand apart from it all, on its outermost edge, watching coldly as every event unfolds in an irreversible way. If another soul were placed in such a person, in such a predicament, what would the ending be? This story follows a student preparing for the college entrance exam who, after a car accident, transmigrates into the world of the Red Chamber and, through a twist of fate, becomes Jia Lan. He strives to improve himself and stand on his own, transforming from a pedantic scholar into a mighty general. The overall outline of the Red Chamber has not changed much.
