Beauty That Captivates the City

Rong Yang, the eldest princess and regent, and Shen Jin, the Prince Regent, had been at odds for years.

Between them, there was no mercy and no warmth. They were sworn enemies.

Then they were both struck by a love spell. They felt restless whenever they were apart, and wanted to draw near whenever they met. The more they tried to resist, the harder it became to suppress their desire to have each other.

Rong Yang had always been fiercely determined and could not accept this wretched fate. To break the spell, she decided to kill Shen Jin.

He had the same idea.

On the night of the full moon, during a banquet, behind a rockery, their breaths mingled.

Rong Yang pressed a gold hairpin to Shen Jin's neck and held back. "What do you want?"

The long sword Shen Jin had pressed to her waist clattered to the ground. For the first time, his usually calm voice trembled as he lowered his head and pried open her lips. "What do you think?"

That night was a blur, and it was only at daybreak that the two of them were discovered in disheveled clothes by the young emperor and over a hundred ministers passing by.

Forced into marriage, Rong Yang and Shen Jin had to share a bed every night because of the spell.

They endured this torturous life day after day. Then, once the spell was lifted, they decided to return to their former lives and resume their old roles.

Rong Yang and Shen Jin discussed how to divorce, and had already settled all the terms when Shen Jin suddenly coughed a few times. "Maybe we shouldn't divorce after all. Our daughter would miss you if you left."

After a pause, he added, "So would I."
