[Western Crossover] On the Compatibility of Private Kitchens and Gotham

[I've had too much going on in real life lately, so I haven't been able to keep up with updates. I've been writing on and off. I should be able to get back to a regular schedule in mid-June, after submitting my application and finishing my exams.]

Blurb

A classic amnesia opening: he wakes up in the wilderness with nothing on him.

A being calling itself the System appears and tells him that if he completes the daily tasks, he can recover his memories.

System: "All right, here's your beginner task: walk fifty kilometers to the city and ask a kind person for help."

He looks at his own appearance: malnourished, pale-skinned, and obviously a shut-in. "..."

From then on, to complete a series of increasingly ridiculous daily tasks, he's forced into all sorts of humiliating play.

When questioned by a famous Gotham landmark: "Who are you?"

With his eyes shut and his whole body trembling, he says, "...I'm the Greek god in charge of private vegetarian dining."

When interviewed by his boss, Red Hood, after applying through Boss Zhipin: "What are you here for?"

He takes a deep breath and tries to overcome his embarrassment. "Boss, I want to play D5 Personality!"

A certain villain tries to brainwash him with the ideology of a harmonious world.

He's already numb to it. "You're right, but Genshin is a..."

Villain: "..."

Later, every villain instinctively learns to roar, "Private vegetarian dining is disgusting!"

Recommending a Pre-Collection Story

Inspired by an idea I once had about "the god behind the glass wall."

So it's called "No. 29 Behind the Glass Wall."

Here's the blurb:

After escaping Arkham Asylum, Jason Todd, former Robin, becomes a temporary mercenary at a warehouse to make a large amount of money in a short time. He's assigned to guard and monitor a newly contained prisoner, No. 029.

The moment he steps into the place known as "Warehouse 13," he understands why this strange job pays so well.

It contains all kinds of supernatural objects... and even some unique life forms.

029 proselytizes to people it subjectively considers "good," and refuses to communicate with people it subjectively considers "evil."

...We have decided to select new individuals to interact with 029.]

A report:

[By mutual agreement, we will lower 029's threat level. After placing restrictions on 029, we will attempt to dispatch him on missions alongside No. 741, a field agent, to recover more dangerous supernatural objects.]

The pay for this job, which he'd risked his life for, lived up to Jason's expectations. Within a few weeks, he'd earned enough money to carry out his revenge plan.

For example, buy an army?

On the day he decided to take the money and run, he calmly headed to work to clock in. Real Gothamites never do important things in broad daylight.

But 029 seemed to see right through the human's plan. Its beautiful bone tail wrapped playfully around his arm, and its inhuman face, breathtakingly beautiful by the standards of its species, leaned close as it smiled seductively. "Take me with you, okay?"

No one could resist that face, and Jason readily agreed.

Then he turned around and reported 029's escape plan to the warehouse administrator.

*This story follows the Arkham Knight timeline. A certain Foundation from the original crossover setting couldn't be included, so I've changed it to Warehouse 13, which has a similar background. Other changes are also original interpretations, such as adding researchers to the warehouse.
