Feng Zhinian had spent years cultivating in seclusion on a sacred mountain. When she finally returned, she unexpectedly discovered that she had lost part of her memory and was known throughout the world as a bloodthirsty witch.

Clutching the wanted notice, she stared at the vermilion headline and, for the first time, found her own name unbearably glaring.

Fortunately, she also discovered that she had been gone for six years. Her name and face were now strangers to the people she knew: friends and family didn't recognize her at first glance, and the portrait on the notice barely resembled her.

So she immediately donned a secret identity and began investigating. But as Feng Zhinian tracked down the former spirit artifacts now called evil objects, and uncovered the truth behind the monster beasts' massacre of a city, everyone declared, “The Spirit Maiden will save the world. Unable to catch the real culprit, Feng Zhinian decided to play along and become a great villain.

But for some reason, after she revealed her secret identity, the entire cultivation world fell silent, as if everyone had gone into hibernation.

He walked toward her at an unhurried pace, emerging from the dazzling sunlight into the dappled shade, his features gradually coming into focus.

He wore white robes, with a Yunxiao jade pendant at his waist. His features were refined and handsome, and his gaze was as tender and lingering as flowing water. He was like a cool breeze on a sweltering summer day, someone impossible not to long for.

Feng Zhinian never imagined that, at seventeen, she would say something so outrageously improper: “Master, now that you've accepted my jade pendant, you'll be my Dao companion once we go down the mountain!”

Even less did she expect him to crouch down, wipe the mulberry juice from the corner of her mouth, and nod.
