"Even death cannot extinguish the fire of our love."
One spring morning, Musiala accidentally discovers two old letters tucked inside a faded poetry collection in the school's library archives. They were written by a king who shared his name.
Through these two letters, whose recipient is unknown, Musiala and Wirtz gradually uncover a long-buried story from three centuries ago: a love story neither of them had ever heard of...
Notes:
1. The protagonists are based on footballers Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz. The setting is an imaginary 18th-century Germany, so please don't scrutinize the details.
2. The two only ever loved each other. The other athletes who appear are just cameos and have no romantic connection to either of them.
3. This isn't technically a past-life-and-present-life story, but you can think of it that way.
4. If you'd like to read it all in one go, come back in June. It will be finished before the European Championship ends.
5. The 18th-century storyline has a tragic ending; the modern-day timeline has a happy ending.
6. Inspired by The Book of Hidden Things.
Theme: Longing for each other across the distance
Finished spreading flowers? In the recent two marriages of our new generation, the two of them have performed extremely well and are full of energy. I hope that the two babies will have a long-lasting friendship and be healthy and happy. In addition: I cried for Xia Wei in the 18th century.
