Meeting Him Again

Seven years later, they met again. She was a woman of the world, while he was an honored guest.

She had almost forgotten the dance steps, while his expression remained calm, as if he were looking at a stranger.

He was no longer the young man in fine clothes who had once promised to marry her, but a deputy prime minister whose authority inspired awe without a word.

The singing and dancing ended. He left amid a crowd of admirers and never appeared again.

Perhaps he had already forgotten her.

Then, when danger struck and she had nowhere else to turn, she went to him and begged him to help her for the sake of their past.

He stared at her and sneered. "Su Yuan, do you have no heart? I never imagined you would dare show your face before me again."
