Would anyone have the same dream every day for ten years?
Would anyone become almost obsessively determined to kill the same person in their dreams?
These abnormal dreams had followed Su Yan like a shadow ever since he was nine.
At first, they terrified him. Then he got used to them, and eventually began consciously searching for their secrets. To his surprise, he discovered that the version of himself in the dreams, with his powerful emotional swings, seemed to be the real him.
For a while, he thought he must not have drunk all of Granny Meng's soup.
Then one day, the old principal who had adopted him pointed to a cold, sinister-looking man and said, "Come on, call him Little Martial Uncle."
The intense bloodlust that had only ever appeared in his dreams surged through every inch of his body in an instant.
To hell with Granny Meng's soup, Little Martial Uncle. He wouldn't mind sending this Little Martial Uncle who had appeared out of nowhere to drink some himself!
After that, he stopped having those dreams. The man he hated with all his heart began appearing in his dreams in a much more bizarre and intoxicating way, with all sorts of new tricks, never repeating himself.
[Plot-focused]
Spiritual qi revival. Yin and yang overlap, and evil ghosts run rampant.
Ordinary people thought that Taoists would handle the ghosts and mages would ward off evil. They never imagined that they, who spent their days anxiously keeping the lights on, would become the front-line troops in the fight against ghosts and evil spirits!
Decades after the ghosts first revived, a yellowed letter titled "Notice of Predetermined Death" swept across the world, bringing with it a deadly game.
The letters were sent at random. Anyone lucky enough to receive one automatically became a player, forced into folk-horror game scenarios generated in different regions. These bloody, terrifying games defied all reason: win and live, lose and die.
For a time, everyone lived in fear.
Just as all the players cautiously picked their way through the scenarios, an outlier appeared: a lone wolf who didn't care if he lived or died. He threw himself into a fight at the slightest provocation. While others avoided ghosts at all costs, he knowingly took the road haunted by ghosts, controlling them, leading them on, and even speaking their language with effortless ease. His teammates' hearts pounded wildly. But whenever he turned the tide in one crisis after another, they would stare at him with shining eyes instead: We'd wandered into a high-level game and found a pro! Grab onto his leg and hold tight! Thank goodness, we've got an expert on our side. We're saved!
The evil rivers and deep mountain villages, the mystical lands of Tibet, the desolate sands beyond the frontier, the hundred-thousand bewildering peaks...
Amid the eerie folk tales, a white figure always appeared, holding a seal of evil ghosts with a whole gang of them trailing behind. Look closely, and they were all monsters from past scenarios that had yet to revive. They couldn't distinguish friend from foe, making them the ultimate weapons of mass destruction!
As for what's bad about being on Su Yan's team, his long-suffering teammates say it's definitely that you can't bring a bottle of fast-acting heart medicine into the game. ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ
