Li Jin's body was stolen by someone who had transmigrated.
To win over the villain, the transmigrator eloped with him, abandoning her arranged marriage to her rival. Her rival lost all face because of "her" and eventually hated her so much that he killed "her" with a single sword strike.
After the transmigrator disappeared, Li Jin was reborn in her rival's courtyard, inside the body of a puppet.
The puppet was covered in scars, with gashes all over.
She was already dead, and he had still made a puppet identical to her to vent his anger and torment it. Li Jin cursed her rival: "What a freak! How much does he hate her?"
Footsteps approached. Afraid her rival would discover she was alive and kill her again, Li Jin turned and ran.
But this body was far too weak. She hadn't made it more than a few steps before her rival caught her...
She thought her rival would kill her, but he kept doing strange things to her:
Every day, he summoned her to "attend him in bed." The more she resisted, the more excited he became. As if he had a masochistic streak, he lovingly stroked her face and murmured, "A Jin, I've missed you so much."
She tried to escape again, climbed over a wall, and smashed herself to pieces when she fell. Her rival rushed over like a madman and held her in terror. "A Jin, don't leave me. I can't bear it."
Once he'd gotten it out of his system, he would hide indoors around the clock, repairing her.
Apart from not letting her go out whenever she pleased, her rival was indulgent toward her in every other way. Only one room was designated forbidden, and she was ordered to stay away from it.
One day, she accidentally broke into that room. It was packed with puppet people who looked exactly like her, covered in talismans for summoning the dead.
Her rival suddenly rushed in. His sharp features were swallowed by shadow as he held a sword and advanced toward her step by step.
Li Jin cowered in a corner and nervously swallowed, thinking she was finally doomed.
But her rival threw away his sword and traced her face inch by inch with his fingertips, as if she were a priceless treasure he wanted to touch but feared breaking. A sick, obsessive look appeared in his eyes.
"I was going to keep this from you and destroy them all. Now that you know, why don't you stay by my side forever? A Jin, I went through so much trouble to bring you back. I won't let you leave me again."
