At the urging of her friend, the enthusiastic magical girl Meili, Shinguya placed a random cosplay commission.
The cosplayer was supposedly a beginner, but had a full set of gear. He showed up without makeup, standing so straight he looked like a soldier, his expression stiff as a new recruit's.
Shinguya wanted to switch cosplayers, but the one-hundred-and-eighty-centimeter-tall, long-haired beauty in black immediately put on a convincing teary-eyed act.
“Fine. Who are you cosplaying?”
“...Senju Hashirama.”
Who was that? Some obscure character from an old anime?
“Can you still switch to another character? I'm not very familiar with the First Hokage.”
System conscripted him / Just turned eighteen / Hashirama: Can I say this? I don't know who the First Hokage is either. QAQ
The client sighed, but since they were already here, she might as well treat it as a boyfriend commission.
Hashirama: ...?!!
.
The client was beautiful and kind, and she could tell him plenty about the future, also known as spoilers.
The only problem was that she didn't much care for the “First Hokage.”
After much soul-searching, Hashirama decided to betray his conscience and cosplay a character with more screen time, one he knew better and was sure was prettier than him.
He swapped his long black hair for a wild black mane, then happily got to work.
Madara, also conscripted by the System, showed up and saw that familiar wild black mane...
Wait, if you're Uchiha Madara, then who am I??
.
After the System invited him, Tobirama finally learned the secret behind his older brother's recent busy schedule.
After much deliberation, he chose a different approach, turning into a pitiful little kitten, something the client would find even harder to resist than an anime character.
Then he ran into Izuna, who had come up with an equally original idea and dressed as a woman to win the client's trust.
“...”
So we're really going to compete like this, huh? It's not like I'm incapable of cross-dressing. :)
.
The ninja would face even more challenges, such as:
Cosplaying my future self and getting told I'm out of character.
Cosplaying a future junior only to find out the client likes the junior more.
Cosplaying a rival's character to steal their screen time.
Why do the boys in this sports anime never wear clothes? This character's outfit is ripped apart, so I guess I have to cosplay that too.
But the client was having a great time.
Ninja are great, and transformation jutsu is amazing. Gender swaps, age changes, beast forms, even turning into completely different characters are all easy.
Once they became friends, they could play games together, visit anime conventions, and take photos for out-of-character fan works. If only she could get a few more of them...
Wait a second, System! You've got the wrong idea. No one said they wanted to transmigrate!

Notes:
1. This is set in a parallel world to This Ninja Game Seems Poisoned, but because that story takes place in a game and this one in the real world, people generally behave differently when gaming than in everyday life. So before the heroine gets to know everyone well, her personality isn't exactly the same as in that story.
If that bothers you, just think of it as a story with the same title. The plots are unrelated; it simply reuses the characters.
2. The modern-day setting and the game world are both undecided.
