One day, all of humanity was swept into a horror game. The System forced them to enter one bizarre game instance after another.

Nobody knew how to escape the horror game, or where it would end.

Ye Zhiqiu, one of the lucky few to awaken a baking skill, became one of the top players. He also attracted the attention of an evil organization.

On the verge of death, he triggered a special mission at a mysterious convenience store. His sweet, delicious little cakes successfully caught the attention of a powerful figure.

For the sake of those cakes, the big shot took him into his territory and marked him with an exclusive brand.

But as Ye Zhiqiu explored the game instances more deeply, he discovered that this was a god-making game, one that used countless human lives to create so-called gods.

Now he had two choices: become a god, or kill one.

[Reader's Guide]

1. Character setup: A self-obsessed, cunning bottom who loves acting like a harmless weakling while putting on a show at every opportunity, versus an arrogant top who is obsessed with cake, never shows emotion, and would rather lie down than stand.

2. The top appears as a cat in the early chapters. At first, he's an aloof feline master; after his identity is revealed, he becomes a clingy little kitty.

3. Although the top brands the bottom as his own, the bottom clears the game instances through his own efforts. There is no ridiculously overpowered golden finger.

Little Scene One:

Ye Zhiqiu held a little cream cake in front of the black kitten and asked ingratiatingly, "Want a bite?"

The black kitten coolly flicked his tail and whisked the cake away, without sparing the human another glance.

Little Scene Two:

Ye Zhiqiu casually stroked the kitten's soft head. "Are you really a cat?"

The Pixiu disguised as a black kitten swallowed the sweet cream cake in one bite. "Meow."

Song Xiaoye died, but then he came back to life.

Song Xiaoye had dropped dead from a heart attack while working overtime. He arrived in the underworld seething with resentment, only to receive ticket number 10715000. Just as he resigned himself to joining the back of the queue, a violent explosion rang out from the underworld's central building in the distance. He looked up and witnessed the most unforgettable sight of his life:

A golden figure shot into the sky and suddenly burst apart. Countless golden lights tinged with purple spread from that point, illuminating most of the underworld's skies. One enormous ball of light plummeted at incredible speed and landed right on him.

When he woke up again, he had all kinds of IV tubes attached to him and a lotus-shaped mark on his left chest.

Song Xiaoye thought he was seeing things before death, because Black and White Impermanence were standing beside his hospital bed. But the next moment, they coaxed and cajoled him into signing a contract before he had even fully come to. And so he officially became an underworld emissary who traveled between the worlds of the living and the dead.

Working for those damn people in the living world was already annoying enough. Now he had to work for the dead after clocking out, too.

Song Xiaoye grew even more resentful and earned the nickname "Resentful Impermanence."

And so began his miserable life working two jobs. He complained endlessly about his work and bosses, all the while grumbling his way into being named an outstanding employee.

But whenever he sent off a ghost, the lotus mark on his chest would bloom a little more. Eventually, the flower developed a mind of its own, giving him an inseparable work buddy. Later, as he gazed up at a long-haired beauty, otherworldly as an immortal descended from heaven...

So my work buddy can turn into a person!
