The whole story is complete. If you've finished reading, could you leave a rating? This little figure kneels in gratitude~ My new novel about a passerby character is now publishing in my author column. If you're interested, come take a look~
For years, Shi Qiushui had hoped her father would become a successful man. She'd finally seen her wish come true when her father, Shi Yue, passed the imperial examination and became a provincial graduate. But before she could enjoy the good life of a graduate's daughter, her clan got her caught up in their troubles, and she was sentenced to exile in Lingnan.
Though she was devastated, exile in Lingnan was the emperor's decision. Shi Qiushui couldn't very well defy the decree and take her father along.
All she could do was comfort herself: Fine, Lingnan it is. At least there's plenty to eat there! Lychees, oysters, sea fish. Surely they wouldn't starve to death once they got there!
After barely managing to adjust her mindset, Shi Qiushui and her father set off into exile. Who could have guessed she'd never get the chance to eat the lychees she'd been dreaming about? A bolt of lightning struck her and sent her hundreds of years into the future, to the 1990s, where she became a six-year-old girl who was also named Shi Qiushui.
Her father, Shi Yue, was struck by lightning and brought along with her, but he went from a frail scholar who couldn't hurt a fly to a 1.9-meter-tall military veteran.
The father and daughter, one hour into the 1990s: Life is great hundreds of years in the future! There's no emperor, so we don't have to worry about being implicated and exiled anymore!
The father and daughter, one day into the 1990s: Life is great hundreds of years in the future! Thermoses are great, toilets are great, electric lights are great. Modern technology is amazing!
The father and daughter, three days into the 1990s: Life is great hundreds of years in the future! Stir-fry is delicious, spicy snacks are delicious, ice pops are delicious. There are so many tasty things!
The father and daughter, thirty days into the 1990s: Life in the future is great, but the people here are so strange. There's an oddball thief who'll stop at nothing to steal factory parts in order to make fake gold, a strange man who sits at the end of an alley every day crying into a handkerchief, and a strange couple where a woman dressed as a man falls in love with a man dressed as a woman...
Still, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Shi Yue, who had already adjusted to life hundreds of years in the future, said as he lay there like a lazy salted fish.
Beside him, Shi Qiushui was struggling over her elementary school textbooks. "Dad, shut up!"
Shi Yue: "Haha! Back then, you made me study hard and improve myself. You never thought this day would come, did you? The tables have turned!"
Shi Qiushui: "I said, shut up!"

Everyday Gossip from a Matchmaker in the 1980s
Ming Xi accidentally transmigrated to the 1980s and became the daughter of a matchmaker famous far and wide.
The moment she arrived, someone came to overturn her mother's stall, claiming that the man she'd introduced was impotent. Ming Xi immediately took him to the hospital for an examination.
And so, by a series of happy accidents, Ming Xi became a matchmaker.
On little Matchmaker Ming's first day at work, a young woman bashfully said she had a boyfriend and wanted to choose her own partner rather than enter an arranged marriage. Ming Xi promptly introduced her to a handsome young man, and the woman blushed and immediately broke up with the pig-faced guy.
On little Matchmaker Ming's second day at work, a young man whose family opposed his marriage asked her for help. She penned a tearjerking love story about a passionate romance and sent it to the newspaper. After reading it, his mother cried and said she didn't want to be a wicked mother-in-law who tore apart a couple.
On little Matchmaker Ming's third day at work, she'd done such a good job arranging matches that the subdistrict office and the Women's Federation both came calling with job offers.
Just as little Matchmaker Ming was engrossed in gossip (crossed out) and building her matchmaking business, the younger son of the Wei family in the alley came to see her, asking her to find him a partner.
Ming Xi looked through her notes, just about to ask what kind of person he liked, when Wei Ning raised an eyebrow. "I like someone just like you."
-
To keep a big client, little Matchmaker Ming sacrificed herself and agreed to go on a blind date with Wei Ning. She hadn't expected him to be a mama's boy, saying "My mom says..." at every turn.
Ming Xi gritted her teeth.
What was he showing off for? She was a mama's girl too.
She began: "My mom says a man who keeps saying 'my mom says' is no good."
Wei Ning answered without hesitation: "Mom's right."
Ming Xi: "??? Who are you calling Mom? That's my mom, my mom!"
Theme: No matter when it is, always live your life well!
