Lian Ran is a horror manga artist. During his senior year of college, his school assigned him to intern at a company for two months.
On his last day, his coworkers were reluctant to see him go. Around other people, Lian Ran smiled brightly, like a big golden retriever. As soon as he got home, though, he reverted to his true self and settled into his gloomy, homebody routine.
One day, he came home to find a very drunk man outside his door. When he turned him over, he realized it was his former boss.
His boss was dead to the world. The always immaculate white shirt he wore was a mess, his face was flushed, and he clung to Lian Ran with both hands.
Helpless, Lian Ran took his boss home and settled him on the sofa.
The next morning, he woke up to find his boss in his bed.
Lian Ran was just about to explain when his boss ran off.
He later found out that his former boss was his neighbor. To make up for what happened that night, his boss invited him over for dinner, and somehow Lian Ran's new routine became getting fed by him.
One day, his boss suddenly confessed to him.
Lian Ran: Huh?
One time, Cheng An had a bit too much to drink at a work dinner. When he woke up, he found himself in an unfamiliar bed. He recognized the person lying beside him: a rather cute intern who had left the company not long before.
To thank him, Cheng An cooked dinner himself and invited him over. Then he realized the intern was even cuter than he'd imagined, and he couldn't help wanting to look after him.
The intern kept irregular hours and didn't like eating. Every day, Cheng An went to great lengths to cook something delicious and call him over for a meal. Little by little, the intern grew closer to him. Cheng An was the first to fall for him, and he watched him for a while.
He took the intern's hand, and the other man didn't pull away.
He hugged the intern, and the other man didn't pull away.
At last, Cheng An couldn't hold back and confessed first.
