The main story is complete!
My novel The Eldest Sister Who Returned from Cultivating Immortality Abroad [The 1970s] is now being serialized. Please add it to your collection. The blurb is at the bottom.
Ding Guo was disgusted after reading a period novel. The character shared her name, and her personality was that of a self-sacrificing saintly side character who would do anything for her family, even marry a fool, all to pave the way for the female lead.
She furiously left a barrage of negative reviews.
But when she opened her eyes, she had become Ding Guo in the book. Her parents sat across from her, endlessly urging her to marry a fool, repeating the side character’s story from the novel.
Ding Guo rolled up her sleeves and smashed that character setup to pieces.
Marry a fool? Whoever suggested it could marry him!
In her bedroom, she gripped her own throat and threatened the air in a sinister voice. “I don’t care which ancestor of mine, dead for eighteen generations, dragged me here. So perk up those big, floppy dog ears and listen. If there’s no System and no golden finger, I’ll kill myself! I’m serious. Three, two...”
[Stop yelling! The ‘Externalize Your Stress’ System is activating. Please wait patiently...]
[System motto: Instead of stressing yourself out, stress out other people!]
[By making other people stress out, the Host can earn stress points, which can be exchanged for items in the System shop.]
Ding Guo grinned, ready to wield her knife. First, she went after her own System, shaking four gift packs out of it and bullying it into silence, earning a mountain of stress points.
Her second target was the novel’s female lead. When reading the book, the character she disliked most had been the original Ding Guo, and the second was the female lead, Ding Nianjun. The daughter of the original Ding Guo’s mother’s first love had taken her place and still wanted to ruin her entire life. Now that they were face-to-face, Ding Guo had to tear off her hypocritical mask to make the most of her transmigration into a book.
Who should she go after with the third strike? So many sheep were waiting to be slaughtered: the original owner’s relatives, and Lu Tutu, who was hidden in the drum. She would drive a wedge between the original owner’s parents and make them tear each other apart, sending them into a spiral of stress!
Her ungrateful younger siblings were all fish on her chopping board, too.
The sheep kept trying to cause trouble, so every now and then she would take her knife to them, slicing here and trimming there, making their already fragile family relationships even more stormy. Then they would shut themselves away in misery, while Ding Guo rolled around with delight at the stress points piling up in her account.
They were as good as cash, redeemable for real goods.
A pound of pork cost 8 stress points, a pound of beef 7, a pound of eggs 5, a meat bun 1, a serving of fried bean sauce noodles 2, a four-ounce serving of braised pork 11, a serving of dumplings...
There were so many ready-made foods available, and she wasn’t good at cooking anyway. She’d never be able to eat it all!
*
Ding Guo had gone wild, and her original family was nearly driven mad by her. Deciding to give the sheep a little time to recover before fattening them up for slaughter, Guo hopped on a bus and headed straight to the capital.
She’d wrangled a perfectly legal little courtyard house out of the System. It was time to go see it.
She walked in with her hands clasped behind her back. As luck would have it, there was... a thief on the wall?
Pei Che held a kite he had just retrieved from a tree next door. The owner had just happened to arrive. Sitting on top of the wall, he found himself in an awkward position and blushed as he explained, “Sorry, the kite got caught in your parasol tree, so I climbed up to get it... I only stood on the wall. I didn’t enter your home.”
Ding Guo gazed at his impossibly handsome face, quietly withdrew her forty-meter-long knife, and asked gently, “It’s fine, it’s fine. Is the wall uncomfortable to sit on? I can put a cushion there later...”
Thump. He disappeared from the top of the wall, and a cry of surprise came from the other side.
At noon, Pei Che came by limping, carrying a plate of braised carp to apologize. “I was really too rude earlier. I hope I didn’t scare you!”
Ding Guo looked at the braised carp. “Did you make this?”
Pei Che nodded.
She had the ingredients, he had the skills. The two of them, separated by a wall, worked together in perfect sync.
Ding Guo had thought he was simply a handsome cook from an ordinary family, until, when they were discussing marriage, she saw Ding Nianjun’s fiance, the man she had secured by sacrificing the original Ding Guo’s entire life, following behind Pei Che and nodding obsequiously, calling him “Brother Che”! Blurb for The Eldest Sister Who Returned from Cultivating Immortality Abroad [The 1970s]:
Yuan Fengyan had spent three hundred years consolidating her cultivation at the Great Ascension stage. Everything was ready, and all she had to do was ascend.
On the day of her ascension, she looked at the five-colored mystic lightning overhead, and her heart turned cold.
She believed she had no inner demons, but the Heavenly Dao disagreed. Five-colored mystic lightning meant an unresolved inner demon.
“How could I, the Phoenix Goddess, have an unresolved inner demon? The Heavenly Dao must have made a mistake.”
How could the Heavenly Dao ever be wrong?
Questioning the Heavenly Dao would only get her blasted to pieces.
As rolling thunder struck, Yuan Fengyan gritted her teeth and cursed in her heart before her soul scattered: I have no inner demons, you shameless Heavenly Dao!
Who could have expected that she would open her eyes and find herself back in the world she had left for the cultivation realm?
At this point, Yuan Fengyan had yet to remember the memories sealed in her sea of consciousness, so she did not recognize the young man sitting in the room. She could only ask, “And you are?”
The young man’s mouth twitched. “Yuan Fengyan, don’t play dumb. You shamelessly seduced Educated Youth Chu. I, Zhao Weiguo, don’t want you. I’m here today to break off our engagement. Don’t bother me again.”
Yuan Fengyan lowered her eyes in thought. Had she really been so flirtatious before going to the cultivation realm that she’d even been dumped?
The young man looked genuinely furious, so perhaps she had!
She couldn’t remember.
But she was sure of one thing: her unresolved inner demon was probably connected to this world.

Ding Zhigang is a pitiful person who must be hateful. If he had been kinder to his biological daughter and didn't dote on his younger son now, he wouldn't be living like this playing chess.
